Mary J. (Coscia) DeLeo

(Coscia) DeLeo, who died at her Revere home on Friday, November 9th after a brief illness, at 95 years. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, November 13th at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere at 10 a.m. Mrs. DeLeo was born & raised in East Boston, lived there most of her life in the Orient Heights section & moved to Revere in 1967. She was an alumna of East Boston High School, Class of 1935. She married Anthony S. DeLeo in 1940 & he died in July of 1967. She retired from the Department of Corporations & Taxation in Boston in 1962 after ten years of service. She is the Devoted Mother of, Virginia E. “Ginger” Selver & her husband Malcolm of Ft. Lee, New Jersey, Marie A. Martino & her husband Patrick G., Diane J. Jones & her late husband Clifford S. Jones, all of Revere, & Anthony S. DeLeo & his wife Lisa M. of Lynnfield. She is the Cherished Grandmother of, Stephen C. Selver & his wife Meri of Tenafly, NJ, Natasha S. Vaquer & her husband Oliver of Los Angeles, CA, & Brittany A. & Taylor A. DeLeo, both of Lynnfield. She is also lovingly survived by her 2 Great-Grandchildren, Max A. & Ava R. Selver. She was the dear sister of the late: Carmella Follo, Frederick Coscia, Josephine Giuffre, Rachel Nargi & Rica DiFillippo. Several nieces & nephews also survive her. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery, in Boston’s Forest Hills section.

DeSimone (Valenti), who died at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on Sunday, November 4th, following a brief illness, at 96 years. Born in Belmont, she spent many years in East Boston, before moving to Revere in 1966. Mrs. DeSimone worked for the Hilton Hotels at Logan Airport as an Executive Housekeeper for over 25 years. She is the wife of the late, Nicholas DeSimone. She is the Devoted Mother of Attorney William P. DeSimone of Beverly & his wife, Martha Adams of Beverly, MA. She is the cherished grandmother of: Revere Patrolman, Mark C. DeSimone & his wife, Lisa, & William S. DeSimone & his wife, Jocelyn, all of Revere. She was the sister of the late, George Valenti & Theresa Pelosi. He was an alumnus of the Wakefield Vocational School, Class of 1977. Most of his career was spent as a finish carpenter & the past ten years with the Revere School System. George also was a volunteer and worker for the Revere Special Needs Program. He is the beloved husband of Joanne A. (Brandano) Buccheri. He is the Devoted son to George F. Buccheri, Sr. & Eileen D. (Coppola) Buccheri. He is also the cherished father of George J. Buccheri of Revere, Jamie L. Delaney & her husband, Daniel of Andover, NH, Phyllis G. Buccheri of Utica, NY & Jessica M. Ralph Carrozza, Jr.
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 from 3 – 7 p.m. in the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Route 62), Wilmington, for Ralph Carrozza, Jr., who died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 30, at 61 years. A funeral service will be held in the Nichols Funeral Home following the visitation on Saturday evening at 7:15 p.m. Mr. Carrozza died at Holy Family Medical Center of Methuen, after being stricken at his Salem, New Hampshire home. Born in Boston, he lived in Revere & attended Revere schools, & was a 1969 alumnus of St. Mary’s High School, Lynn. The family were residents of Newman St., Revere for over 25 years before moving to Wilmington in 1975, where he remained until he moved to Salem, NH in 2008. Since age 19 years, Ralph began a career in stone masonry, a trade that was intrinsic to his late father’s family. His Paternal Grandfather, David Carrozza, was known as the “Master of Masonry” throughout the Commonwealth. Two other uncles also spent their working careers in the masonry trades. About 15 years ago, he returned to school & earned his teaching certificate & began a teaching career in Master Stone Masonry at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School, of Billerica. “Mr. C” as he was affectionately dubbed, became an icon at the school & his loss is deeply felt among the students & his colleagues. He is the beloved husband of Sheilah M. (Brunelle) Mulcahy-Carrozza of Salem, NH. He is the Devoted Father of, Susan M. Carrozza of Malden & Christine A. Carrozza of Billerica. He is the Dear Brother of, Rachel E. Stanchi & her husband, Carmen A. of Wilmington. He is also lovingly survived by, Seana Mulcahy & Jason A. Mulcahy both of Andover & Makenzie B. Mulcahy of Salem, NH, & his adoring Grandson, Logan K. Mulcahy. He is also the Dear Uncle to Michelle M. Stanchi of Wilmington & Michael R. Stanchi & his wife, Kathryn “Kate” of Winthrop. Several Aunts, Uncles & Cousins also survive him. He as also the son of the late, Ralph Sr. & Edith D. (Saponaro) Carrozza. His mother died in March of 2012 & his father in November of 2009. His first wife for over 25 years, Frances E. (Nardone) Carrozza, died in October of 2004. He was a long-time member of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen, Local #3 & a member of the Massachusetts Teachers’ Association, & the Shawsheen Valley Teachers’ Association. Tetsuya Sasanuma
Services will be held in Japan for Tetsuya Sasanuma, of Revere, MA, who died unexpectedly at his Revere Beach Boulevard home in Revere, on October 27th, 2012, at 71 years. Born in Japan, he came to live in Revere over 40 years ago. For over 30 years, he worked as a Chef & manager at the Bisuteki Steak Houses in Revere & Cambridge. Tetsuya was a remarkable worker & was regarded by many of his colleagues as a man of great honor & integrity. He is the Beloved Son of Yukiko Sasanuma of Kawasaki City, Kanagawa, Japan. He is also the Devoted Brother to, Yoko Hashimoto of Kawasaki City, Kanagawa, Japan, & the Cherished Uncle to, Miyuki Hashimoto, also of Kawasaki City, Kanagawa, Japan. He was also the Son of the late, Toju Sasanuma. He is also lovingly survived by his friend & colleague, Hiroshi Nei of Revere, MA. Edward F. Schreiber
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, October 24th, 2012 in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, beginning at 9 a.m., for Edward F. Schreiber, who died unexpectedly at his Somerville home on Sunday, October 21st, following a brief illness, at 90 years. His funeral will be conducted in the funeral home at 11 a.m., followed by interment in Massachusetts National VA Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Born in Dedham, he was raised & educated in a section of Dedham, known as Germantown. He lived in Germantown as a young man, later moving to Dorchester. In 1968, the family moved to Somerville. He began his Navy career on November 15, 1940 & served until June 24, 1946. He is a Veteran of World War II. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor at the time of the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941. He escaped physical injury, though the emotional & psychological assaults, must have been overwhelming for all that witnessed this infamous day. He is a member of the National Association of VFW. Most of his working career was as a Truck Driver & after leaving that work, he went to work for Alliance Security as a Security Guard for 6 years, retiring in 2002 at 80 years of age. Mr. Schreiber was the husband of the late, Barbara A. (Henderson), who died on April 17, 1987. He is the Devoted father of, Anna T. Duffy of Somerville, with whom he made his home, Edward B. Schreiber of Florida, Cheryl A. Letterio & her husband, Thomas of North Carolina, Barbara A. Taillon & her husband, Arthur of Richmond, New Hampshire, Patricia A. Barson & her husband, Simon of England & the late, Joanne Schreiber. He is the Beloved brother of Robert Schreiber of Florida & the late Frances Lucia. He is also lovingly survived by his devoted Great-Grandson, Cole R. Duffy of Lynn, 14 Grandchildren & 18 other Great-Grandchildren. Gilda E. (Maffei) Santosuosso
Family & friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Saturday, October 27th, 2012 at 12 Noon in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere, for Gilda E. (Maffei) Santosuosso, who died on Saturday, October 20th at Wingate of Reading, following a brief illness, at 99 years. Born & raised in Revere, Mrs. Santosuosso was an alumna (Class of 1930) of Revere High School, a 1933 alumna of Leslie College, & a 1934 alumna of Salem State Teachers College. Her major was in elementary education & spent almost forty years at the former Julia Ward Howe School, Beachmont, teaching 1st & 2nd grade. She was a devoted & caring teacher, who took pride in her students, realizing that early development was most crucial to their developmental study habits & attitudes. Mrs. Santosuosso spent her entire teaching career at the Julia Ward Howe School. She is a member of the Retired Revere Teachers’ Association & the Revere Women’s Club, as well as the Anthonian Club of St. Anthony’s Parish. She & her late husband, Benjamin C. Santosuosso, who passed in December of 1994, were devotees of St. Anthony’s Parish Community. Although the couple were not blessed with their own biological children, they were surrogate Parents to all their nieces & nephews. “Auntie GG” was legendary for her generosity & kindness. She will be remembered especially for her dignity, quiet charm & absolute integrity. She is the devoted aunt to, Rocco “Richard” Abruzzese & his wife, Lois of Medford, New Jersey, Carmen J. Lepore of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Linda F. Sorbello of Reading, MA, Anthony M. Lepore & his partner, Jeanne Cusick of Stow, MA & Linda Idone & her husband, Robert of Falmouth, MA. She is also the loving grand-aunt of 4 grand-nieces & 6 grand-nephews, & the cherished Great-Grand aunt of 6 Great-Grand nieces & 3 Great-Grand nephews. She also leaves many faithful cousins. She was the dear Sister of the late, Lydia L. Lepore & Yolanda Abruzzese. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, West Peabody. She is the cherished sister of Louis P. Abric, V, Philip L. Abric & Anthony F. Pirelli all of Revere. She is the adored granddaughter of, Louis P. Abric, III & his wife, Joanne of Winthrop & the late, Jeannette M. “Jean” Abric & the late, Alice & John Colantonio. She is the dear niece of, Cheryl Mei of Lynn. She is also lovingly survived by her boyfriend, Paul Peters of Malden & her faithful canine companion, “Scooby Doo” & several other aunts, uncles & cousins. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
