Eileen L. (Sullivan) Ferraro

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, July 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE for Eileen L. (Sullivan) Ferraro, who died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 15th at her home in Revere, she would have celebrated her 89th birthday on July 31st. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., REVERE at 11:00 a.m., immediately followed with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Eileen was born in Lynn, she was raised & educated in Saugus. She was a proud alumna of Saugus Highs School, Class of 1950. After high school, she worked at New England Tel & Tel until the early 1960’.  She and her husband were married & settled in Revere where she raised her children. She stopped working to take care & raise her children. She was a proud mother & wife. She was dedicated to her family & extended family.

She is the beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Ferraro. Loving mother of Richard L. Ferraro & wife Sheila of York, PA, Laurie M. Ferraro of East Boston & David A. Ferraro of Rockland. Cherished grandmother of Felicia, Brianna, David & Kyra Ferraro. She is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

Michael Longo

At 74 years, in Everett, formerly of Revere, July 14th, most unexpectedly in the comfort & consolation of his home. Beloved husband of 49 years to Jerri A. (Hall) Longo. Devoted father to Michael J. Longo & his wife Pamela of Chelmsford. Adoring grandfather to 4 grandchildren: Tiberius B., Maxfield D., Dezlan S. & Vivienne C. Longo. Dear brother of Josephine Piccardi & her late husband Hugo of Revere & Salvatore Longo & his wife Linda of Somersworth, NH. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. All services were held privately in accordance with Michael’s many instructions & directives to his family & extended family.

Michael gave 25 years of service to US Postal Service (Cambridge Central Branch), retiring in 2012. For many years Michael held a membership with St. Andrew’s BBC Club of Chelsea. Late Member of the Army National Guard.

Angela L. “Dolly” (Fischer) Soroka

Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass on Wednesday, July 21st in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., REVERE at 11:00 a.m., for Angela L. “Dolly” (Fischer) Soroka, who passed away peacefully on July 13th. She was 78 years old. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Angela, or “Dolly” as she was affectionately known as to many, was born in Everett to the late Lucille Fischer & Freddy Fischer. She spent most of her life residing in Revere and she was a graduate of Revere High School. Dolly enjoyed many things but one of her favorites was baking which she was known for. She spent a number of years living in Chelsea and was the former wife of the late Robert J. Soroka.

She leaves behind her daughter Melissa Soroka of Saugus, her daughter Lorie Heckley, who cared for her until the last days of her life and her son-in-law Richard Heckley of Revere and her son, Robert Soroka of Everett. She is the loving grandmother of Samantha Heckley, Emily Heckley & Sydnee Bruce. She is also lovingly survived by her brother, Joseph Fischer of Malden.

Luis A. Landaverde-Castaneda

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, July 12th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE for Luis A. Landaverde – Castaneda, who died in the love & presence of his family on Thursday, July 8th at his home in Saugus, following a long battle with cancer, he was 56 years old. A funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 13th at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) REVERE at 12:30 p.m., followed by interment in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus.

Luis was a native of Citalá, El Salvador. He was raised & educated in El Salvador. He came to the United States as a young man with a fierce work ethic and a bright outlook for the future of him and his family. Luis worked all of his working career in landscaping. He worked for many years at Northeastern Landscaping as a laborer. Luis was a dedicated family man with an extraordinary work ethic. He did all he could do to provide for his family and to have a better life.  Unfortunately, due to his diagnosis, he was no longer able to work. He was loved unconditionally by all his family.

He is the beloved son of Jesus Landaverde & Dora Castaneda de Landaverde of El Salvador. Devoted husband of Juventina Moran de Landaverde of Saugus. Loving & proud father of Gerber Landaverde & wife Rosa Arevalo of Lynn, Noe Landaverde of Saugus, Jermias Landaverde & wife Julia of Revere, Luis Antonio Landaverde & companion Zulma Morales of Saugus & Joel Landaverde & wife Jacqueline of Saugus. Cherished grandfather of Kali, Adrianna, Jeremy, Lea & Brian. Dear brother of Oscar Landaverde of Revere, Francisco Landaverde of El Salvador, Moises Landaverde of Alabama & Manuel Landaverde of Georgia. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, friends & extended family.

Criado y educado en El Salvador.  Vino a los Estados Unidos joven con una gran ética de trabajo y tenía una  gran expectativa del futuro para él y su familia.  Luis trabajó muchos años en la carrera del cuidado de jardines y césped.  Trabajó muchos años con Northeast Landscaping.  Luis era un hombre dedicado a su familia con una gran ética hacia el trabajo.  Hizo todo lo posible para proveer a su familia para tener una mejor vida.   Desafortunadamente, debido a su condición y diagnóstico, era posible que trabajara.  Era querido por su familia incondicionalmente. 

Es amado hijo de Jesus Landaverde y Dora Castaneda de Landaverde de El Salvador.  Devoto esposo de Juventina Moran de Landaverde de Saugus.  Amado y Orgulloso padre de Gerber Landaverde y su esposa Rosa Arevalo de Lynn, Noe Landaverde de Saugus, Jeremías Landaverde y su esposa Julia Reyes de Revere, Luis Antonio Landaverde y su acompañante Zulma Morales de Saugus & Joel Landaverde y su esposa Jacqueline de Saugus.  Acariciado abuelo de Kali, Adrianna, Jeremy, Lea &  Brian.  Estimado hermano de Oscar Landaverde de Revere,Francisco Landaverde de El Salvador, Jose B. Mildred T. (Bucci) Rossi

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Saturday, July 10th from 10:00  a.m.  to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE for Mildred T. (Bucci) Rossi, who died at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Wednesday, July 7th, following a long illness, she was 91 years old. A Funeral Service will be held, following the visitation, in the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Millie was born in Raised in Boston’s North End. She was educated in Parochial Schools and was an alumna of St. Mary’s Girls High School, Class of 1948. She was married to Louis J. Rossi, Sr. & Millie & her husband remained in Revere, where they raised their family. Millie worked for fulltime as a bookkeeper for WHDH TV Boston and later took on a part time role so she could raise her children. Family was the essence of Millie’s life. She was a very active mother, always present in her children’s lives and she always found time to prepare endless meals along with all of the other necessary tasks a mother would endure. In her later years, she became involved in St. Anthony of Padua Church, where she was instrumental in coordinating bus trips & activities for seniors. Her social activity allowed her to continue to help others, make new friends and have fun along the way. No matter where she was or what she was doing, her family is where her heart was, especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren, whom she loved & treasured.

She is the devoted wife of 67 years to the late Louis J. Rossi, Sr. who passed on October 19, 2017. She is the proud & loving mother of Louis J. Rossi, Jr. & wife Joan A. of Saugus, Cathy A. Cecere & husband Daniel of Revere, and the late Mildred T. Cooke & Richard Rossi. She is the cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren & adored great grandmother of 7 great grandchildren. She is the dear sister of the late Salvatore Bucci, Attorney Frank Bucci & Mary DeFilippo. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, & grandnephews.

Elena M. (Mogavero) Pantano

(Mogavero) Pantano, who died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 6th at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere, she was 90 years old. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 489 Broadway, EVERETT at 11:00 a.m., immediately followed with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Elena was born & raised in Medford. She was a 1948 alumna of Medford High School, Class of 1948. She was married to her husband Albert W. Pantano, Jr. for 58 years. The couple resided in Revere for many years while they raised their children. Elena worked for many years as a waitress at the Ritz Cafe on Revere St. in Revere, the Chateau Deville & the Fernwood. She & her husband later moved to Everett, where she has been for about 15 years. She was a devoted & faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Everett. Elena spent her days at the Revere Moose #2712 where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post. There, she had many friends and loved to play bocce. She also loved to take trips to the casinos. Her family recalls all of the many wonderful holidays she hosted throughout the years & her legendary cooking. She was a simple woman that you would immediately love and want to be your friend.

She is the devoted wife of 58 years to the late Albert W. Pantano, Jr. Loving mother of Albert J. Pantano & wife Janet M. of The Villages, FL, formerly of Georgetown & Dennis Pantano of Everett. Proud & cherished grandmother of Amanda M. McMahon & husband Lawrence of Conifer, CO, Amie J. Richards & husband Maxwell of Methuen & Andrea L. Pantano of Cambridge. Adored great grandmother of Oliver George. Dear sister of the late Camille Young – Fischer, Sebastian “Buster” Mogavero & Jennie Parisi. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews & friends.

Michael P. Sacco

Private Funeral Services & interment were held privately at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden for Michael P. Sacco of Revere, formerly of East Boston, who died on Tuesday, July 6th at the Everett Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Everett, following a lifelong illness, he was 77 years old.

Michael was born in Boston and was raised in East Boston until the age of 9 years old. The family then relocated to Revere. Michael was educated in both Boston & Revere Public Schools. Michael worked at the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge & Hotel in Revere for most of his working career. He enjoyed working in the kitchen performing various tasks. Michael loved studying history as a young student and as an adult. He was fascinated with world events and the chronological order of the world’s biggest events and accomplishments.  Michael was also an avid Red Sox fan, much like history Michael new all of the history that involved the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed the highs & lows of what it means to be a Boston Sports Fan. He is now at peace & rest with his parents, home in heaven.

He is the beloved son of the late Orlando & Louise (Caruso) Sacco. Cherished brother of Barbara Green & her late husband Charles Green, Jr. of Sarasota, FL & Rose M. Smallcomb & her husband Robert of Salem. Dear uncle of Laurel Green of Coon Rapids, CO & Heather Green of Sarasota, FL. He is also lovingly survived by other family members.

Angelo F. Passeri

Funeral Services & Interment were held privately on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett for Angelo F. Passeri, who died on Sunday July 4th at the Atrium in Danvers, following a brief illness with Dementia, he was 93 years old.

 Angelo was born in Chelsea to the late Andrew “Tamp” Passeri, Sr. & Mary (Riccio) Passeri and was raised & educated in Revere. Angelo entered the United States Coast Guard on March 13, 1946 and served at the end of World War II until being honorably discharged on June 30, 1947 with the rank of Motor Machinist 3rd Class. After being discharged from the Coast Guard, Angelo attended Wentworth Institute, graduating in 1950. During this time, his future bride waited for Angelo to return and get his education, before they wed. At the direction & foresight of his father, education was instilled in Angelo and he continued onto Northeastern University. He began his professional Career at G. E., then later went to work for AT&T for over 35 years, until his retirement. Angelo & his wife together raised their 4 children in Revere. During this time Angelo instilled in his children the innate core values & morals that he was raised with & lived his life by every day. He was fastidious about his home & his garden where he started all of his plants from seed.  Angelo & his wife lived fiercely independent in Revere until 4 1/2 years ago, before moving to Danvers, where there they were independent and surrounded by the love & support of their family.  Angelo was always a family first man. He took responsibility for his extended family & many elderly relatives. He was a tireless & passionate volunteer member at the Vittori Rocci Post #56 in Beverly & the V.A. Hospital in Bedford. Angelo again gave back by giving his time to those who gave their lives for our country. Above all, Angelo was most proud to be called, “Papa Angelo” by his grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

 He is the dedicated & devoted husband of 72 years to Catherine F. (Thomas) Passeri of Danvers. Loving & proud father of Catherine F. Tacelli of Middleton, Paul F. Passeri & wife Suzanne of Danvers, Marybeth Tobin & husband Daniel of Hamilton, Daniel R. Passeri & wife Jo-Ann of Winchester. Treasured grandfather of Tracy Paulsen of Westwood, Gregory A. Passeri & wife Elisabeth of Danvers, Julianne S. Mitrano & husband Guy of Danvers, Sara Kempf & husband Brendan of Los Angeles, CA, Alyssandra Tobin of Missoula, MT, Mark A. Passeri of Duxbury, Elianna Tobin of San Diego, CA, Daniel Tobin of Hamilton & the late Neal O. Paulsen & his surviving wife Megumi Paulsen of Raleigh, NC. Joan U. (Ferullo) Buccini

(Ferullo) Buccini, who died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 27th, she just celebrated her 86th birthday on June 22nd. A Funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Friday, July 2nd at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St. REVERE at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Joan was born & raised in Boston. She attended Boston Public Schools and was an alumna of Roslindale High School. She met & married her husband Hugo M. “Mike” Buccini and the couple settled in Revere. They raised their children in Revere where Joan was a proud mother & homemaker. She and her husband shared 55 years of marriage until his death on February 25, 2009. Joan continued to live a life surrounded by her loving family & her group of friends. She enjoyed going places and always loved getting dressed up for any occasion. She later became a great grandmother & loved being with her 2 great grandson’s. Her family was paramount, she enjoyed being with her siblings & sharing & making new memories.

She is the beloved wife of 55 years to the late Hugo M. “Mike” Buccini. Loving mother of Christina M. Alma & husband Edwin of Saugus & Wayne R. Buccini of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Michelle A. Swanson & her husband Christopher of Saugus & Jenny M. Lawless & her fiancé Lian Lemmo of Manchester, NH. Adored great-grandmother of Brandon T. & Grayson M. Swanson. Dear sister of Geraldine Remondi & husband Emelio of Hyde Park, Michael J. Ferullo & wife Shelley of Plymouth& the late Sabino Ferullo, Jr. She was the devoted daughter of the late Former Lt. Heavyweight boxer Sabino Ferullo “Sammy Fuller” & Jenny (Raffaele) Ferullo. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

Vita A. Radway AKA Vita A. Marotta

Radway AKA Vita A. Marotta, formerly of Revere, who passed away in Lynnfield, on June 25th, following a lengthy illness. She was 93 years of age. Her Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. & immediately followed with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Vita was born in Revere and is the daughter of the late Leonard and Catherine (Darone) Radway. She was second oldest of 5 children. Vita was a long-time resident of Lynnfield; she shared her home with her brother Arnold and her nieces and nephew. Vita and Arnold raised their 6 great-nieces and nephew after a tragic accident claimed the life of their mother and their niece, Cynthia Flint. Vita very much enjoyed having all of her family around her and treated everyone she knew as family. Following the family tradition, she always cooked Sunday dinners, and everyone looked forward to her famous meatballs. To everyone that knew and loved her, she was known as ‘Aunty’, a loving and caring woman who truly enjoyed helping others. During the early parts of her life, she enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, a place where she would visit often and form life-long friendships. Vita worked most her life at the Department of Employment & Training in Boston, a career that spanned 20 years. She lived in Revere during the early years of her life when her parents came from Italy. The family later moved to Lynnfield in 1945.

She is the wife of the late William A. Marotta. Devoted sister to Arnold P. Radway of Lynnfield & the late Anthony G. “Tony” Radway, Vivian “Millie” Radway-Flint & Phyllis LeTourneau. Dear daughter of the late Leonard & Catherine (Darone) Radway. Cherished grandaunt & surrogate mother to Jennifer Connell, Rian Connell, Sharane Connell-Anderson & Brian Anderson, all of Lynnfield. Loving grandaunt to Christina Passanisi of Saugus, Danielle Passanisi & Bianca Passanisi, both of Lynnfield. Also lovingly survived by her great grandnieces & nephews, Hunter & Poppy, both of Lynnfield, Angelo, Briella & Janessa-May, all of Saugus.
