Alfred J. “Al” Rosi

Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, July 27th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) REVERE for Alfred J. “Al” Rosi, who passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 17th, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after being stricken at his Saugus home. A Memorial Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, following the visitation at 7:15 p.m. Interment is private.

Born & raised in Medford, he was a student of Malden & Medford Schools. Early in his working career, he began working in the Beauty Supply Industry. For many years, he worked as a Warehouse Foreman for Boston Beauty Inc. He then joined the firm of Caldwell Barber & Beauty Supply before moving onto a career in electrical supply. He began working on a part-time basis for Home Depot in Saugus, as Electrical Supply Foreman, where he was working at the time of his untimely passing. At Home Depot he was regarded as the “go to” guy for anything electrical and was always ready to be more than helpful & courteous. Many of his colleagues are truly and sincerely mourning his passing. He & his family have lived in the Saugus area for about 38 (thirty-eight) years, especially the Golden Hills area of Saugus/Melrose.

He is the beloved husband of 46 years to Patricia L. “Patty” (Butler) Rosi and the devoted father to Melissa M. Rosi & the cherished grandfather of Arianna M. Rosi, all of Saugus. He is the brother of the late Ronald Rosi. He is the loving brother-in-law of Theresa Rosi of Maine, Atty. Christine L. Butler of Somerville, James W. Butler & wife, Deborah J. of Malden. He is also the dear Uncle to Ronald Rosi & Michelle Rosi-Pasciuto, both of Maine.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
