Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, March 23rd, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Alice E. (Twomey) Weaver , who passed unexpectedly at her residence at Brooksby Village, Peabody.  Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, March 24th  at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere, at 10 a.m.  She was an alumna of St. Rose High School of Chelsea.  She worked as a Comptometer Operator (comptometers were the parents of today’s computers) for General Electric of Lynn.  She worked there for about ten years before marrying & moving to Revere.  She lived in the Point of Pines section of Revere for over 40 years, before moving to Brooksby Village 9 years ago.  She is the beloved wife of 58 years to Arthur E. Weaver, Sr.  She is the devoted mother of Arthur E. Weaver, Jr & his wife Donna of Oviedo, FL, & David M. Weaver of Tewksbury.  She is also the cherished grandmother of Andrew E. Weaver of Oviedo, FL, David M. Weaver, Jr. & Jessica N. Weaver both of Wilmington.  She is also lovingly survived by her adoring niece, Linda Hurley – Del Vecchio & her husband Robert & their children, Sean, Shannon & Siobhan all of Chatham.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to: The  American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-9376.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
