Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, August 17th, 2012 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Carol A. (Wilson) Kearns, who died on Monday, August 13th at the Shaughnessy Rehab. of Cambridge, following a long illness, at 79 years.  Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, August 18th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere at 10 a.m.  Mrs. Kearns was born in Boston, lived her early life in Lowell & came to Revere 50 years ago.  She was a “stay at home Mom,” raising her 3 children.  She is the Cherished mother of: James E. “Eddie” Kearns & his fiance Barbara Mahoney of Stoneham, MA & Salem, NH, Catherine E. Fiore & her husband Alessio of Wilmington, & Frederick W. Kearns, Jr. & his wife Annette of Portsmouth, RI.  She is the beloved partner of the late, Richard Avellino & the dear mother-in-law of the late, Stella Kearns.  She is also the devoted Grandmother of Kellyann Fiore & her husband Eddie Thomas of Stoneham, Kristina A. McLaughlin & husband Ryan of Hudson, NH, Christopher M. & Matthew Kearns, both of Portsmouth, RI.  She is also lovingly survived by her 2 great-granddaughters, Kallie Kearns & Gracie McLaughlin.  Interment will be held privately at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.  Carol was a member of the Revere Seniors at the Rossetti-Cowan Senior Center.  Her family is most grateful for the extraordinary attention, the members & administrators, have shown Carol over the years.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Rossetti-Cowan Senior Center, 25 Winthrop Ave., Revere, MA 02151.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
