Carol E. Brothers

Family & friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Thursday, April 13th at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm St. Everett, for Carol E. Brothers, who died on Sunday, March 12th at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware. She was 80 years old.

Carol was born, raised & educated in Revere and is an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1954. After graduation, Carol worked for a short period at New England Tel & Tel, in Revere & later at Boston’s famous Jordan Marsh Company. Eventually, Carol found her calling and became a Home Health Aide with the Nursing Association of Greater Lynn, in Lynn. She helped many ailing and elderly people in need. She found her calling to be both rewarding and fulfilling. Carol was a Home Health Aide for many years. After retiring, she found a new calling. She owned and operated “Bark & Purr” Pet Grooming located in Revere. Her love for animals gave her such joy working with pets. She sold her business before retiring to Delaware in 2000. Carol moved to be closer with her sister and other family members. As she made her new home, she made new acquaintances & found new hobbies. Carol loved playing Bingo and playing the slots at area casinos, she loved crocheting and was an avid reader.

She was the devoted daughter of the late Ralph V. & Josephine (Urbanilk) Brothers. The loving sister of the late Earl Brothers, Dorothy A. Spence & Viola Johnson. She is the cherished aunt of Dennis R. Spence & his wife Mary, David Brothers, Virginia McNally, Michelle Austin, Deidre Brothers & Diane Duchland. She is also the dear grand aunt of Debra Collins. Also lovingly survived by her sister in law Elva Brothers.

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
