Carolyn A. (Iorio) Caporale

Services & interment have been held for Carolyn A. (Iorio) Caporale, who died on Friday, November 1st, 2013 following a long illness at Courtyard Nursing Care Center of Medford, at 76 years.  Carolyn was born & raised in Revere, attended Revere schools, & was a 1954 alumna of Revere High School.  After Nursing School, she worked in several area nursing facilities before settling at the newly built Oceanview Manor Nursing Home, a.k.a., Oak Island Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  Carolyn worked there for over 25 years in a myriad of positions.  She remained at Oak Island as Administrative Assistant until they closed their doors in September of 1999.  Carolyn was the wife of the late George A. Caporale, Sr., who died in November of 2005.  She is the devoted mother of: Mary C. Benton & her husband Thomas of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Jacqueline A. Bates & her husband Dale of Hampstead, New Hampshire, Carl Michael Caporale & his wife Norma of Suncook, NH, & the late Revere School Committeeman George A. Caporale, Jr.  She is the dear sister to: Karla Hornyak of Pittsfield, MA, Kenneth J. Iorio & his wife Toni R. of Revere, & the late Geraldine Iorio.  She is the cherished grandmother of: Jennifer, Joshua, Kaleigh, Picasso, Caitlin, Sarah, Jaimie, Kevin, Carl-Michael, William, Matthew, Crysta, & Amanda.  She is also lovingly survived by her two great-grandchildren, Tala & Jace, her daughters-in-law, Maura D. Caporale of Reading & Deborah Redley of Peabody, & several nieces & nephews.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to: St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
