Cristina (Colarusso) Beatrice

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, October 7th, 2015 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Vertuccio & SmithBeatrice, Christina Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Cristina (Colarusso) Beatrice, who died on Friday, October 2nd at Boston’s Mass General Hospital, following a brief illness, at 86 years.  The visitation will be followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Community Mausoleum, Malden.

 

Born in the Benevento region of Naples, Italy, the family came to the United States in 1963, settling in Revere.  A quiet & humble lady of grace, she was a most devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, & great-grandmother.  She was very attentive to her family & all their needs.  She is the wife of the late Filippo Beatrice, who passed in May of 1994.  She is the devoted & adoring mother to Pellegrino “Pal” Beatrice & his wife, Ellen M. of Revere, & Anthony Beatrice of Revere, with whom she made her home.  She is the cherished grandmother of Christina M. Delaney & her husband, Steven of Weymouth, Robert & Alexa Beatrice, both of Swampscott.  She is the dear sister of Carmenantonio Colarusso of Revere, Antonio Colarusso & his wife Angelina, Maria Capone & her husband Virgilio, all of Naples, Italy, & the late: Pasqualina Grieco & Vincenzo Colarusso.  She was also the mother of the late P. Angelo Beatrice of Swampscott.  She is also lovingly survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Beatrice of Swampscott, & the treasured great-grandmother of Ethan Delaney of Weymouth.  Many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews also survive her, here in the USA & Italy.  Her sons, Pellegrino “Pal” & Ellen  are the owners & operators of “Fiore’s Market” on Revere St., Revere, for over thirty eight years.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to: Boston Childrens’ Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115, ATTN: Pulmonary & Thoracic Clinic.

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
