David J. Kelley

Funeral Services & Interment were held privately due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic for Retired Revere Police Patrolman David J. Kelley, who died in the loving care of his family in Saugus on Friday, February 12, following a long illness, he was 80 years old.

David was a lifelong Revere resident. He was educated In Revere & was an alumnus of Revere High School Class of 1958. He joined the Revere Police in the 1970s in the City he loved. His career spanned over 30 years of service, before retiring. He was an active member of the Revere Lodge of Elks #1171. There he made many lifelong friends & happy memories. He was a three-time past Exalted Ruler & Honorary Life Member. His best memories were always spent with his family, whom he loved deeply.


He is the beloved son of the late Norwood & Loretta (Theodore) Kelley. Loving father of Diane D. Danca & husband Frank of North Andover, John J. Kelley of Revere, David P. Kelley & wife Michelle of Revere, Melissa L. Sheppard & husband Matthew of Saugus & Christian C. Kelley & wife Wendy of Saugus. Dear brother of the late Robert B. Kelley & his surviving wife Eleanor E. “Sissy” Kelley of Revere. Adored grandfather of 5 grandchildren & one great granddaughter. He is also lovingly survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
