Dennis R. Grasso

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, December 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), REVERE for Dennis R. Grasso, who passed unexpectedly at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center of Revere, following a brief illness on Sunday, December 10th. The Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home following the visitation at 12:30 p.m. and immediately followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born & raised here in Revere, Dennis attended Revere High School & graduated in 1960. Dennis had a passion for music and playing the guitar and professionally appeared at many of the Lounges and nite-spots lining Revere Beach Boulevard. He played and performed under the “moniker”, “Danny Richards” until his late twenties. He began working with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, in several various capacities. As a toll collector, he was stationed at Callahan Tunnel for several years. He began a lengthy association with the Department of Correction within their transport unit as a driver for clients and later the elderly, retiring in 2000, at age 58 yrs. Since that time, he has been his Mom’s appointed, care-giver & advocate. His beloved & adored Mother, Nellie (Dotolo) Grasso will observe her 102nd birthday on February 28th, 2018. Mrs. Grasso’s ability to remain at her Revere home is due largely to Dennis’ unparalleled efforts.

Besides his Mom, he is the devoted father to Lisa A. Lowell & her husband, David A. of Raymond, N.H. & Carla M. Grasso of Northwood, N.H. He is the cherished grandfather to Richard P. Lowell & his wife, Brenda of Concord, No. Carolina, Steven A. Lowell & his wife, Michelle of Port Charlotte, Florida & Christina R. Lowell of Raymond, N.H. He was the dear brother of the late Geraldine M. DeSisto. He is also survived by eight (8) great grandchildren; Austin, Mason, Brandon, Ally, Autumn, Reighna, Aiden, David and many cousins.

To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
