Dorothy E. (Flynn) Allen

Family & friends are invited to attend Memorial Visiting Hours on Friday, April 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, for Dorothy E. (Flynn) Allen, who passed on Thursday, March 29th at Wingate of Chestnut Hill, Brookline, following a long confinement. Her Memorial Service will follow the visitation, in the funeral home at 12:15 p.m.

Born & raised in Revere, she attended Revere Schools & was a 1943 graduate of Revere High School. “Dottie” died the day following her 93rd birthday. She cared deeply and lovingly for her family & her extended family.

She was the widow of Joseph L. Allen, who died on January 13, 1989. She is the devoted mother to Dorothy E. Allen-Miller & her late husband, Hyman of New Jersey, Jo-Anne Jaynes & her late husband, John R. Jaynes Jr. of Revere, Jacqueline Monahan of Haverhill & the late, Joseph L. Allen, Jr. She was also the beloved daughter of the late William & Dorothy E. (Pearl) Flynn. She is the dear sister to William Flynn of New Jersey, Helen Snodgrass of Rolla, Missouri & the late, Michael Flynn & Agnes Burroughs. She is also lovingly survived by 10 (ten) grandchildren, 14 (fourteen) great-grandchildren, 5 (five) great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Interment will be held privately at Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, West Peabody.

    i loved my auntie dotty she was the greatest. I loved going to see her and uncle joe i missed all the cookouts and fun we had there i was happy to see her at mom’s wake it was a sspecial time she will be missed. all my condolences to all family members i would love to come to her wake and funereal but i don’t own a vehicle at the moment just no you are all in my prayers love lizzy

    I am saddened by my lovely Aunts Passing. I am sorry I just got the news today and I had surgery at 6:30 Am. why did I have to miss this beautiful Spirit of love pass away. I Loved her so much and she always loved me and my brothers and Sisters and was really good to us. I remember my mom Agnes Flynn/Burroughs fleeing my dad to her house with all us kids in tow. you always looked out for us. And every one of us loved you so much. Please someone send me her grave marker site and i will try to get down soon. so sorry I missed her. living in RI no one but Helen Gurska chats with me and I was not online when she sent me a message, I was prepping for my kidney surgery. it went well. Aunt Dottie I want you to know how we all loved you and your family. you will always live on in my memories and heart. love and Condolences to your entire family from the Burroughs crew.

Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
