Dr. Albert W. Kelley, D.P.M.

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 6th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte 107) REVERE, for Dr. Albert W. Kelley, who passed on Monday, October 3rd at Revere’s Lighthouse Nursing Care Center, following a lengthy illness.His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on kelley-dr-albertFriday, October 7th at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) REVERE at 12:30 p.m.

Born in Chelsea, Dr. Kelley, came to live in Revere as a young boy, attending St. Rose Grammar School of Chelsea & then onto Immaculate Conception High School, Revere, graduating in 1944. He served with the U.S. Navy, from June of 1944 thru June of 1946, as 1st Class Fireman. He returned home, and attended The Beacon Institute of Podiatry in Boston. He gained his degree in Podiatric Medicine, at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He opened offices in Revere and Malden, for almost 40 years, retiring in 1998. Before that, he served internships at N.E. Foot Clinic & Long Island Foot Clinic of Boston. He was a former instructor in both Review Anatomy & Practice of Podiatry at Beacon Institute of Podiatry, Boston. Dr. Kelley had a long association with both McFadden Manor Nursing Home & Davenport Memorial Home both of Malden, as their Chief of Podiatry. Here in Revere, Dr. Kelley was Chairman of the Revere Board of Health for 15 years and a member of the Board for over 35 years. Dr. Kelley was also a life-member & former officer with the Revere Council, Knights of Columbus #179. After his formal retirement from the Podiatry Profession and the death of his beloved wife, Dorothy P. (O’Brien) Kelley in Feb. of 1998, he relocated to the grounds of the Tewksbury Country Club. There, he entered the workforce again, as Manager of the Pro-Shop at the Tewksbury Golf Club for 13yrs. Dr. Kelley was a longstanding member of the American Podiatric Medical Assoc., the Mass Podiatric Medical Assoc. (Ethic and Education Committees).

He is the cherished father of Paul G. Kelley & his wife, Patricia A. of West Peabody, Linda J. Gregory & her husband, John T. of Tewksbury, Maureen N. DeMers & her husband, Steven T. of Revere and Patricia A. DelMastro & her husband, Richard of Tewksbury. He is the devoted Grandfather of Paul B. Kelley & his wife, Jaclyn of Merrimac, Ma., Lauren M. Kelley of West Peabody & Liann Gregory of Tewksbury. A set of two year old twin girls, his great-granddaughters, Alana & Madelyn Kelley also survive him. He is the dear brother of Paul F. Kelly of Everett & his wife, Doreen & the late M.D.C. Patrolman Robert P. Kelly. He is also lovingly survived by his sister-in-law, Susan
H. (Segal) Kelly of Pt. of Pines, Revere. He was the brother-in-law of the late Regina A. Kelly. Many nephews, nieces, grand-nieces & grand-nephews also survive him. Interment will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, West Peabody.

Friday, October 7th at 12:30 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Revere

Interment

Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
