Elizabeth R. “Betty” (McLaughlin) Simone

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, May 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Simone, ElizabethHome for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Elizabeth R. “Betty” (McLaughlin) Simone, who passed away on May 18th at 84 years, in the company of her dedicated & beloved family after a long illness. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, May 21st at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in The Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), Revere at 10:30 a.m.

Born in Winthrop, she was a lifelong resident of Revere and an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1949. For over 55 years, Betty was “the Avon Lady” who had clients, not only in Revere but in many North Shore surrounding communities. Betty treated her work, not only superbly, but maintained a personal connection to her many clients. Those friendships would last throughout the years. She received many awards and citations from The Avon Company, for superior achievement and dedication. Only recently, due to failing health, did she stop working. Her dear late husband, Peter S. Simone, who passed away in August of 2004, was a tremendous help; sorting, packing and delivering the orders, along with maintaining his own full time work. The couple, on a family level, were legendary, for their love of Christmas, especially shopping and decorating. They would begin in January to prepare for next Christmas. As they arrived home with presents, they would wrap the treasures, for their four children, six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives loved visiting their Revere home and often referred to it as “Santa’s Village”.

Betty was the devoted mother of Chris Simone & wife Patricia A. of Revere, Dawn E. Stanwood & husband Jeff of Amesbury, Gregory P. Simone & Lynn M. Ristino & husband Paul all of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Jeffrey M. Stanwood & wife Jess, Jillian R. Collins & husband Jeff, Jennifer L. & Katelyn E. Ristino, Gregory P. Simone Jr. & Victoria E. Simone. Dear sister of Francis “Frank” M. McLaughlin Jr. & wife Fay of Wilmington. She is also lovingly survived by her 2 great grandchildren, Jaxon & Joelle and many faithful nieces and nephews. Interment will take place in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody

To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
