At 98 years, in Revere, on January 24th, following a lengthy illness. Retired Language Teacher for the City of Revere for over 40 years. Beloved daughter of the late Wilfred A. & Regina (Baron) Petit. Dear sister of the late Viola R. Petit. Cherished cousin to Laurelle Parrotta of Peabody & Dr. Regina Boisclair of Hingham & several other loving cousins both here in the U.S.A. & Canada.
Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, January 28th in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE, beginning at 10:00 a.m. thru 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) REVERE at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) and immediately followed by interment at St. Jean de Baptiste Cemetery, Lynn. Parking available in lot left of the funeral home.
Ms. Petit was a woman of grace, a brilliant linguist of 5 languages & a proud member of the Roman Catholic Church. She was a devotee of the Immaculate Conception Community & a longtime lector & Eucharistic Minister for the parish. She was also a member of the Revere Womens’ Club & the Retired Revere Teachers’ Association. Alumna of Emmanuel College, Class of 1943 & a Magna Cum Laude Alumna of Boston University, Class of 1950.
I met Elmire a couple of times when she came to Montreal. She was a fascinating and interesting person to talk to. She will truly be missed. My deepest condolences.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Miss Petit. She lived down the street from me on Hopkins Street. I would take her barrels in on rubbish day and we would talk about different things going on. She was a delightful, sweet woman and I am glad I got the chance to know her.
