Eva M. (Fucillo) Riccio

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, April 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) REVERE, for Eva M. (Fucillo) Riccio, who passed in the presence of her God, serenely & peacefully, on Tuesday, April 3rd at her Chelsea residence at the privileged age of 102 years. Her Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home, immediately following the visitation at 11 :15 a.m. and immediately followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Born in Revere, the family lived there until moving to Boston’s North End, where Eva attended schools & then moved to Chelsea over 75 years ago. She was married to the late Joseph R. Riccio, who died on February 1, 1995. Eva was the quintessential wife, mother and aunt, to her husband, children, nieces & nephews. She enjoyed being at home, always welcoming a visitor. Until her early nineties, she was a long-time active member of “The Socialites” at Our Lady of Grace Parish of Chelsea & a member of the Saugus Senior Center.

She is the cherished mother of Joseph A. Riccio & Libria M. “Libby” Downing, both of Chelsea. She is the devoted aunt to Theodore “Skip” Fucillo & wife Linda of Wells Beach, Maine, Gerald Riccio & wife Linda of Boston’s North End, David Riccio & wife Gina of Revere & several other faithful nieces & nephews. She was the dear sister of the late Josephine Fucillo, Esther Sicuranza, Armando Fucillo & Theodore Fucillo. She is the proud daughter of the late Luigi & Michelina (Cataldo) Fucillo.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
