Florence (DiDonato) Guarino

Family & friends are invited to visit at the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) REVERE, on Saturday November 24th, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., for Florence (DiDonato) Guarino, who died following a brief illness on Thursday, November 15th, at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Boston. Her Memorial Funeral Service will be held following the visitation in the funeral home on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Interment is private.

Born & raised in Boston, Florence moved to Revere over seventy years ago. She would nurture & raise 3 sons; Carmen, Vincent “Jim” & Robert. All would attend local schools and college as well. She had many fine jobs throughout her working career, with the clerical department at both Graphic Arts of Charlestown & the former National Shawmut Bank of Boston in their secretarial department.

She was the beloved wife of the late Carmen A. Guarino, who passed in November of 2008. She is the cherished mother to Carmen E. Guarino & his wife, Gail of Brewster, Vincent J. “Jim” Guarino of Revere & Robert T. Guarino of Revere. She is the devoted grandmother to Danielle S. Silverman & her husband, Justin of Wayland, Julia K. Rosequist & her husband, Brett of Hingham & adoring great-grandmother to Ryan, Elle, Susanah & Samuel. She is the dear sister of Carmela “Millie” Koch & her husband, Edward of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also lovingly survived by her canine Grandkids, Gus & Sandy.

Funeral Service

Saturday, November 24th at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home

Interment

Will be private

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the MSPCA (MA Society for Prevention &Cruelty to Animals-Angell, 350 So. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130-9923.

    Auntie always made me feel welcomed and loved. She was an amazing woman, someone I will always remember. I have many fond memories of visiting her and Uncle Carmen . . . for that, I will always be thankful.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
