Florence I. (Cramb) Olsen

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, August 23rd, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the Vertuccio and Smith, Olsen, FlorenceHome for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Florence I. (Cramb) Olsen, who died on Friday, August 19th at the Kindred Hospital of Boston, following a lengthy illness at 87 years . A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11:15 a.m.

 

Florence was born & raised in Malden. She attended Malden public schools and was an alumnus of Malden High School, Class of 1947. After graduation, Florence worked at John Hancock Life Insurance Co. of Boston. She worked there for several years prior to marrying Arthur S. Olsen in 1957. Together the couple began their family in Everett, then in 1959, they settled in Revere, where they made their home and raised their 7 children.  Florence was a dedicated homemaker & a wonderful mother. She took tremendous pride in her home & her family. In later years, she was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed her trips to points north of New Hampshire & Maine’s Lake Regions. She was so talented with her crocheting, sewing & knitting, making wonderful creations for her family to enjoy & treasure. Her favorite past time was spending time with her incredibly large family, sharing memories and making new ones.

 

She is the devoted wife of Arthur S. “Siggy” Olsen, Sr. of Revere. Loving mother of Wayne D. Spencer & his wife Georgianna, Donna M. Hurley, all of Winthrop & her late husband DeeJay Hurley, Arthur S. Olsen, Jr. of Swampscott & his late wife Helene, Alan R. Olsen & his wife Annette of Georgetown, Sonja J. Olsen & her companion Fred Nolan of Revere, Eric L. Olsen & his wife Erica of Sandown, NH and Zoe A. Simonton & her husband Norman of Winthrop. Cherished grandmother of 19 grandchildren and adored great grandmother of 7 great grandchildren. Beloved sister of Donald Cramb of NH, Joan Aubrey & her husband John of Everett, Phyllis Seisa & her companion Charles of NH, Dora Dunton & her husband James of NH, Christine Panniello of Tewksbury & the late Frank Cramb & his wife Barbara of NH. She is also lovingly survived by her loving brothers & sisters in law, & many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.  Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
