Frances M. (Drago) Lombardi

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, Oct. 30th, from 4:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE, for Frances M. (Drago) Lombardi, who died on Wednesday, Oct. 28th at her daughter’s Lombardi, Franceshome in Dedham, following a long illness. Frances died in the loving care of her God & the presence of her devoted family. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 31st, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in Most Holy Redeemer Church, 72 Maverick St. East Boston at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

Born in Fitchburg, MA, she was raised & schooled in East Boston, graduating from East Boston High School, Class of 1941. She & her family then moved to Webster Ave. in Chelsea, for many years, before she moved to Admiral’s Hill, Chelsea for almost twenty years in her senior years. For the past seven months, she made her home with her daughter, “Terri” in Dedham. A “Mom” before all else, she was especially devoted to her grandchildren, and they to her.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph J. She is the cherished mother of Joseph A. Lombardi of Nahant, Robert A. Lombardi & his wife, Cheryl of West Peabody, Theresa A. “Terri” O’Sullivan & her husband, Michael J. of Dedham, Nina F. Lentz & her husband, John R. Lentz III of Swampscott. She is the adored grandmother of Joseph A. Lombardi, III of Everett, Gabrielle Lombardi of Naples, Fl., Michael Lombardi of Melrose, Lauren Lombardi of West Peabody, Michelle A. & Michael L. O’Sullivan both of Dedham, Christopher R. Lentz of Wakefield & Michael J. Lentz of Swampscott. She is the dear sister to Mary Honkonon of So. Carolina & the late, Nancy DiStasio, Michael Drago & Anna Linscott. Many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews also survive her.

Saturday, October 31st at 10:00 a.m. in Most Holy Redeemer Church, 72 Maverick St. East Boston

Interment

Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Italian Home for Children, 1125 Centre St. Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 or to the Home for Little Wanderers, 10 Guest St., Brighton, MA 02135.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
