Francis H. Oesterle

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, December 13th, 2015 from 2:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Oesterle, Francis HHorne for Funerals, 773 Broadway, (Rte107), Revere for FRANCIS H. OESTERLE, Jr. who passed on Wednesday, December 9th, unexpectedly at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Boston. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, December 14th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), Revere at 10:30 a.m.

Born in Gloucester, the family moved to Beachmont, Revere in the early 1930s, where they remained. “Franny” attended Beachmont Schools & was an alumnus of Revere High School, class of 1944. Soon after graduation he joined the US COAST GUARD in October of 1944 and served as a Fireman 1st Class until May of 1946. He would later begin a career with the Revere Fire Department, spanning over thirty years, retiring in 1982.

Franny was the beloved husband of the late Margaret M. “Peggy” (Teevens) Oesterle, who passed in October of 2009. He is the devoted father to Karen A. Oesterle, R.N. of Revere & Thomas F. Oesterle & his wife, Linda R. of Newnan, Georgia. He is the cherished grandfather of, Allison F. & Luke T. Oesterle both of Newnan, GA. He is also lovingly survived by his sister-in-law, Dorothy A. McDonough & her husband, William J. of Hanover, Ma., Mary Teevens of Pembroke & the late Eugene F. Teevens Jr. Several nieces & nephews also survive him. Entombment will be in the Versailles Building at Woodlawn Community Mausoleum, Everett.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
