Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, August 7th, 2014 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Franklin J. “Al” Nolan, who died on Saturday, August 2nd at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home of Chelsea, following a lengthy illness, at 88 years.  His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, August 8th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), Revere, at 10:30 a.m.  Born & raised in Chelsea, he came to live in Revere over 60 years ago.  “Al” retired from the United States Postal Service in 1990, as a Mail Carrier in Medford.  He was a member of the Retired Postal Workers Union.  He was a graduate of St. Rose Catholic High School of Chelsea in 1944.  Immediately following graduation, he entered the United States Navy in June of 1944 & served as a Radioman 3rd Class until June of 1946.  He is a World War II veteran.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Margaret J. (Donovan) Nolan.  He is the dear brother of Robert Nolan of Kansas City, Missouri, & the late: John W. Nolan, Joseph R. “Ritchie” Nolan, Claire F. Nolan, & Eleanor Baczewski.  He is also lovingly survived by his sister-in-law, Mary K. “Kay” Nolan of South Weymouth, his brother-in-law, Retired Revere Fire Lieutenant Anthony V. Pesce, Sr. of Revere, & many dedicated & faithful nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Friday, August 8th, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
