Giuseppe A. S. Santo

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, March 26th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE, for Giuseppe A. S. Santo, who died following a long illness on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Care One of Peabody. His funeral will be conducted on Monday, March 27th from the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), REVERE at 10:30 a.m., immediately followed by entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born & raised in the town of Atripalda, in the province of Avellino, Italy, he came to this country in 1955, settling in East Boston, until 1974, when he moved to Revere. In 2000, he moved to his daughter’s home in Middleton and a year later, in 2001, moved to Salem, Mass. In 2015, he moved to Peabody Glen Nursing Facility (Care One at Peabody). Since that time he has been a patient at Peabody Glen, (Care One at Peabody) where he passed on Thursday, March 23rd.

He is the beloved husband of the late Pasqualina (Santosuosso) Santo, who died in April of 2000. He is survived by his devoted daughter Elvira Guarino & her husband, Pasquale of Middleton, his adoring grandaughter, Anna Frongillo & her husband, Matthew of Peabody, and two grandsons; Joseph Guarino of East Boston & Michael Guarino of Middleton. He is also lovingly survived by his two great granddaughters; Giana & Gabriella Frongillo. He was also the brother to Mario Santo, Carmellina Iandolo & her husband,Gaetano, Anna Sandullo & her husband, Modestino & Ida Santo, all of Italy.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
