James L. Dorr

Family & friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, October 21st in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE from 9am through 10:30am & followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 11 a.m. Parking available left of the Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately.

Born in Leicester Mass., he was raised there & educated there, entering the service from there in May of 1944 & serving with the U.S. Navy until April of 1946 as a Coxswain (V-6). All of his working career was spent as a Master Chef & most prominently at the Vesper Country Club of Tyngsboro for over 15 years. He retired from the Food Service Department at Wonderland Dog Track.

He is the beloved husband of 30 years to Louise M. (Cardillo) Dorr of Revere Beach Blvd., Revere. He is the devoted Father to Deborah L. Puglia of Tewksbury & James B. Dorr of Brookline. He is the cherished Grandfather to Jessica & Laura Puglia, Amanda, Claire, Ian, & Olivia Hickey. He is also lovingly survived by his only graat-grandaughter, Isabella “Izzy”. He is also survived by Louise’s children, James Hickey of Revere, John Hickey & his wife, Marie of Somerville & Gary Hickey of Wakefield. Dear brother to the late, Raymond P. Dorr, Jr., and Robert & Nancy Dorr. Many adoring & faithful nieces & nephews, also survive him. He was an active member of the Rossetti-Cowan Senior Center of Revere.

Saturday, October 21st at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere

    I am so sorry for your loss. Jim was a wonderful person and you were

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
