James W. Perry

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, June 18th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) REVERE, for James W. Perry, who died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 13th at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19th, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. and immediately followed by interment at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.

Born & raised in Everett on May 6, 1972, he was an alumnus of Everett High School, Class of 1990. James worked for several auto repair garages as an auto mechanic & lastly in his working career, he was a truck driver. In 2005, the family moved from Everett & settled in Melrose. For over ten years, he was a Scout Master for the Everett troop of Boy Scouts and held membership in the Troop for over 20 years. For the last two years, he was an active member for the organization known as, “Mom’s Cancer Fighting Angels” of Lynn. This organization was founded about the same time as Jimmy was diagnosed with metastatic lung disease.

He is the beloved husband of 23 years to Marion M. (Martin) Perry. He is the devoted father of Alex J. Perry & Diane M. Perry, both at home in Melrose. He is the cherished son of Marie E. (Ragucci) Perry of Melrose & the late Henry L. Perry, who passed on May 27, 2017. He is the dear brother to Rosemarie Romboli & her husband, Edward of Malden, Susan M. Connors & her husband, Peter of Wilmington, Henry S. Perry & his wife, Eileen T. of Wakefield, Anthony S. Perry & his husband, Eric Adelman of Stoneham & George W. Perry & his wife, Brenda of Saugus. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces & nephews.

Tuesday, June 19th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home

Interment

Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
