Janice A. “Jan” (Murphy) Spracklin

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, December 1st in Blessed Mother of the Morning Star Parish – St. Mary’s Church, Revere for Janice A. “Jan” (Murphy) Spracklin, who died in the loving presence of her family & her God on Friday, November 26th at her home in Revere, following a long illness with breast cancer, she was 74 years old.

Jan was born in Boston and was raised & educated in East Boston. She was an alumna of East Boston High School, Class of 1965. Jan was married to her love, Norman G. Spracklin on November 19, 1969. After they were married, they settled in Chelsea before moving to Revere in 1973. Together they raised their children and Jan was a very dedicated mother & wife, first & foremost. One of Jan’s proudest accomplishments was when she owned & operated “Jan’s Country Kitchen”. She operated the restaurant for about 10 years. She served delicious food and it was her witty personality that people fell in love with. She treated all of her customers as if they were her family, which in some cases, they became part of her extended family.  Jan was always a kind & loving person who always found time to help a friend in need.

She is the devoted & beloved wife of 52 years to Norman G. Spracklin of Revere. Loving mother of Lisa A. Spracklin & Eric C. Spracklin, both of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Courtney T. Spracklin of Burlington. She is the dear sister of Elaine Westmoreland of Saugus, Marilyn Jones of Revere, Phyllis Deleidi & her husband Raymond of Chelsea. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.

Remembrances may be made to Susan G. Komen Global Headquarters, P.O. Box 801889, MA 300, Dallas, TX 75380.

Mom I’m missing you more and more each day. You touched so many hearts, more than you’ll ever know. My heart aches because you’re not physically here, yet it is so full of love for all we got to share the past 8 months. I cherish every moment spent together nothing was left unsaid.
I feel truly blessed to have you as my Mother, tho I’m missing you, my Best friend. You were such a bright light here on earth and you shined so bright on all those you loved and cared for and those who were drawn to you by ur comforting, warmth of your light and compassion. The hardest part was watching ur light slowly dimming and tho you passed so peacefully your light shined no more. I know at that time God was shining his light so bright for you as you headed towards heavens door.
We put ur ashes on the fireplace in a beautiful pink urn. Your back home with us again. I love you, Amen.

To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
