Joseph A. Morante

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, August 4th, 2013 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Joseph A. Morante, who died on Wednesday, July 31st at the Boston Medical Center following an attack on Tremont St., Boston, where Joseph was employed.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 5th at the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), Revere at 10:30 a.m.  Joseph was born in Melrose & lived in Revere all of his life, & was a 2012 alumnus of Revere High School.  He was employed by “Eye-World” Cell Phone at the Tremont St., Boston location, where the tragic accident occurred.  Ironically, he was to be transferred to the East Boston store on Tuesday, August 6th.  Joseph was an unusually loving young man, who was most fond of children, especially his 10-year old twin brothers, Alan C. & Steven G. Plitsch of Revere, & his two-year old baby sister, Grace M. Morante of East Boston.  He is the cherished son of Carolyn M. Russo of Revere & Joseph J. Morante, Jr. & his wife Seeyee Morante of East Boston.  He is the devoted Grandson of Richard F. Russo of Arlington & the late, Sara E. Russo & Camille M. Morante of Revere & the late Joseph J. Morante, Sr.  Joseph also leaves his fiancee, Diana Alvarez, & is also survived by many adoring aunts, uncles & cousins.  Joseph enjoyed an unusual & tender bond with his immediate & extended family.  This tragedy happened on July 31st, only two days following his 19th Birthday.  May our loving God & his Mother, Mary, enfold Joseph & his entire family in the mantle of protection, shielded from all things negative & restore their minds & hearts to peace & enduring love.  Interment will be held privately at a later time at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to: ROCA, 101 Park St., Chelsea, MA 02150.

Prior to my retirement 10 yrs. ago from the State, I worked with Camille, Joe’s grandmother and Joe’s father for the State. I am horrified at what has happened…..I can only say that I hope that whomever did this is caught and justice is served. However, this is so tragic and senseless that even if justice is served, really nothing can repair the hole in your hearts. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

Send your condolences.

To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
