Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, July 15 in the Vertuccio & Smith Home For Funerals, 773 Broadway, Saraceno, Joseph(Route 107), REVERE beginning at 10 AM through 12 Noon, for Joseph J. Saraceno, who passed away on July 11th at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 12:15 PM. Parking available left of the funeral home. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

He is the beloved husband of the late Josephine M. (Mandracchia). Devoted father of John M. Saraceno of Marblehead, Patricia J. Crosby & her husband retired Revere Auxiliary Deputy Police Chief, James F. Crosby of St. Cloud, FL, formerly of Revere & New Bedford & Robert J. Saraceno & his wife Donna of Saugus. Cherished grandfather of Heather N. & Brian M. Crosby, both of New Bedford, James M. Crosby & wife Jessica of St. Cloud, FL, Robert Saraceno & wife Lisa of Saugus & Christopher A. Saraceno of Marblehead. Also lovingly survived by his 6 great grandchildren, Bella, Dante, Christian, Domenic, London & Annalise & many nieces & nephews. Brother of the late Connie Teri & Martha Jannotta.

Late Navy Veteran of W.W. II, member of American Legion Post #61 of Revere, Danvers Fish & Game Club & the 5-2 Club of Chelsea.

“Papa Joe” enjoyed a long career at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard as a lead machinist for over 30 years.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
