Julia L. (Della Porta) Fraga

Family & friends are invited to attend a Graveside. Service at Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm St. Everett on Thursday, February 4th at 11:00 a.m. for Julia L. (Della Porta) Fraga, who passed on Monday, February 1st at Salem Hospital following a long convalescence. Mourners are invited to congregate at 10:45 a.m., inside the main gate of Woodlawn Cemetery.

Born & raised in Revere, she was a member of one of Revere’s oldest professional families. Her family owned & operated a number of businesses locally and on the Boulevard. She was a member of the Class of 1942, Revere High School. She & her beloved husband of 69 years, George T. “Buddy” Fraga, left Revere and moved to Saugus over 50 years ago. Earlier in her life, she and her dear late Mother, Jennie (Malta)Della Porta were active members of the Revere Womens’ Club.

Besides her beloved husband of 69 yrs., George T. “Buddy” Fraga, she is survived by her devoted brother, Joseph Della Porta & his wife, Gladys A.(Capone) Della Porta of Swampscott. She was also the sister of the late, Annette DeCotis. She is the dear aunt of Douglas J. Della Porta & Philip J. Fraga, both of Revere, Robert, James and Carl DeCotis & the late Steven J. Della Porta. She was also the loving daughter of the late Anthony & Jennie (Malta) Della Porta.

Graveside Service

Thursday, February 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
(Please meet directly at the cemetery gate at 10:45 a.m.)

In lieu of flowers, and because of Julia’s intense concern for the welfare of animals, remembrances may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave. Salem, MA.01970 or to the MSPCA at ANGELL, 350 South Huntington Ave.,Boston,Ma.02130-9923.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
