Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, July 8th, 2014 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Lorraine F. (Coviello) Tunnera, who died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 3rd, at 74 years, after being stricken at her Revere home & brought to Massachusetts General Hospital.  Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, July 9th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), Revere, at 10:30 a.m.  Born, raised, & educated in East Boston schools, she was a 1958 alumna of Boston Girls’ High.  After marrying Francis A. “Frank” Tunnera in 1959, they moved to Revere, where they remained.  Frank died in January of 2004 following a long & valiant battle with multiple sclerosis.  Lorraine maintained him & all his care at their home until his passing.  A strong & vibrant woman, she entered the workforce at Boston’s Four Seasons Hotel as a Room Service waitress & banquet manager.  She thoroughly enjoyed her position at the Hotel for over 20 years.  She is the cherished mother of Francine Tunnera of Revere, Laurie Ann Stone & her husband Scott A. of Middleton, & Frank A. Tunnera, Jr. & his partner Lori Barrett of Saugus.  She is the devoted grandmother of Rebecca L. Stone & Samuel R. Stone, both of Middleton, & Cameron C. Weaver of Revere.  She is the dear sister of Rosemarie LeClair & her late husband Nelson of Winthrop, & the late: Ann Marie Coviello & Anthony Coviello, Jr.  She is also lovingly survived by several nieces & nephews, & her faithful canine “Grandkids”, Kobe, Oakley & Stella. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.  Lorraine was an active member of several senior centers in Winthrop, Revere, & Saugus.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to: The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101 First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02454.

Interment

Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

    I was so sorry to hear of your moms passing. She was a wonderful kind and caring woman. Your mom made my mothers last years of life happy and filled with laughs and adventure. My mom Winnie adored you mother and they had fun together. Lorraine preserved my moms dignity in her last years, she was a special person. I hope this gives you all comfort knowing what a kind and loving woman your mom was , she had a special gift. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. Xo

We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
