Lucy M. (Reppucci) Salemme

A well-attended funeral mass was celebrated on Saturday, Nov.12th in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere for Lucy M.(Reppucci) salemme-lucySalemme, who passed rather unexpectedly on Tuesday Nov.8th in the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Her time of death, was just 5 minutes shy of her 94th birthday observance.

Born & raised in East Boston, she was a 1940 alumna of East Boston High School. As a young woman, she entered the work force at the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF BOSTON, for nearly ten (10) years as office manager. Later, after her children, were settled and married, she went to work, along with three of her sisters, at the former LIBERTY MARKET CORP. OF EAST BOSTON. Lucy was the supervisor of the “Food Court” at Liberty for over twenty (20) years. Always known to be “busy”, Lucy joined hands with her only daughter, Evelyn, when she opened her business, “RECEIVABLES MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATES” & took the role as Personal Secretary & Office Manager. She remained most active, till very recently at 93 years, young. A bit of a “fashionista”, she retained her interest in her appearance and style. Her family will certainly, experience the loss, however, the memories and “excitement” of her life will do much to ease their pain.

Lucy was widowed in May of 1988, when her beloved husband, Ralph A. Salemme, passed. She is the cherished Mother to: Evelyn A. Lumino & her late husband, Joseph R. of West Peabody & Genard “Jerry” Salemme, Senior Aid to Senator Edward Markey, and Jerry’s wife, Rachel Welch of Arlington, Virginia. She is the adoring Grandmother to Christopher G. Salemme, Nicole M. Kahle & her husband, J. Ryan “Michael A. & Matthew A. Salemme, all of Arlington, VA. She is also lovingly survived by her great-grand-daughter, Samantha Grace, many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. She is the dear sister to the late, Ann Giglio, Eleanor Santoro, Carmella M. Elliott, Anthony A.”Tom” Repucci, John Repucci, Joseph & Evelvn “Reppucci. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  Lucy was a

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
