Marie C. (Reddington) DiGianni

Family & friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, July 1st from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rt. 107) Revere for Marie C. (Reddington) DiGianni, who died peacefully at her home in Revere surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 28th, following a lengthy illness, she was 82 years old. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, July 2nd at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Marie was born in Somerville and was the only child of the late Thomas Reddington & Edna A. (Ripley) Silva. She was raised & educated in Somerville schools. On September 12, 1959, she married the love of her life, Joseph R. DiGianni, Jr. They settled in Revere in 1967 where together raised their family. Marie was a dedicated & wife & mother. She also had a career with Lifetime Brands, as a purchasing Agent, which spanned 30 years, however, family was always first and foremost. Marie also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun Casino and she was an avid reader & had a profound affection for animals. Her husband, Joseph, passed away on April 28th, 2021 after sharing over 61 years of marriage together.

She is the devoted & beloved wife of the late Joseph R. DiGianni, Jr., who passed on April 28th, 2021. Loving mother of Linda M. Hunter, Michael E. DiGianni, Sr. & his companion Donna Hoey, all of Revere & Richard J. DiGianni of Everett. Cherished grandmother of Joseph J. DiGianni of Peabody, Michael E. DiGianni, Jr. of Revere, Kristy M. Anderson of Revere, Brittani E. Anderson of Danvers, Kayla M. DiGianni of Revere and James R. Hunter & wife Desirae of Revere. Adored great grandmother of Dylan, Luna, Addison, Ariella, Cassidy, Jackson & Cole. Dear sister-in-law of Donna Pantano of Saugus & her late husband Alfred & the late Vincent A. DiGianni & wife Margaret E. DiGianni of Peabody. She is also lovingly survived by many cousins.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
