Marie M. (Robichaud) Richard

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), REVERE on Tuesday, May 28th beginning 8:30 a.m., for Marie M. (Robichaud) Richard, who passed away following a brief illness, on May 22nd at the CHA – Everett Hospital. She was 90 years of age. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 790 Salem St., MALDEN, at 10:00 a.m., immediately followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada, she was educated there. Following high school, she married Harvey C. Richard in 1948 and together they moved to the United States and settled in Chelsea to begin their family. A devoted wife and mother, Marie also worked outside of the home at American Biltrite for a number of years and later at Marson’s Corp. in Chelsea for 22 years. She was a resident of Chelsea for over 50 years before moving to Revere 10 years ago. Marie enjoyed Bingo and was a longtime supporter at St. Mary’s and St. Anthony’s Parish of Revere. Marie lived a very active lifestyle up until just 3 months ago. She enjoyed spending time with her family and, just last month, she was honored to celebrate her 90th birthday with family and friends.

She is the beloved wife of the late Harvey C. Richard. Devoted mother of Donna H. Richard of Malden and Harvey J. Richard of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Danielle LeFave & her husband Phillip of Celebration, Florida, Deanna Bonaventura of Hamden, Connecticut, Dana DeShiro & her husband Christopher of Dedham, Michael Richard and Francis Richard, both of Revere. Adored great grandmother of Kaleigh, Addison & Aidan LeFave, Lillianna Bonaventura and Anthony & Adalena DeShiro. Dear sister of Laurine Boudreau, Lauzia LeBrenton, Harvey Robichaud & Leo Robichaud, all of Canada.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
