Mark J. Amsden

Services were held at the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, of Revere, for Mark J. Amsden of Nashua, NH, who died unexpectedly at his New Hampshire home on Sunday, August 12th, 2012, at 43 years.  Mark was born in Chelsea, & raised & educated in Revere, & was a 1987 alumnus of Revere High School.  Mark, as a young boy was an altar server at St. Anthony’s Church, Revere, & also was a member of the former St. Anthony’s Youth Band.  He had lived in New Hampshire for the past three years.  He is the beloved son of Craig D. Amsden of Saugus & Joanne (Crisostano) Amsden of Winthrop.  He is the devoted brother of Stacey A. Amsden of Winthrop & Stephen S. Amsden & his wife, Penny of Revere.  He is also lovingly survived by his step-mother, Joan M. Amsden of Saugus, 3 nephews, Jonathan R., Steven C. & Devin L. & 1 niece, Samantha-Jo Amsden, & several aunts, uncles & cousins.  Interment was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Cemetery, West Peabody.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.

    We are so very sorry to hear about the loss of Mark. My father Reynold was extremely fond of him. I remember numerous visits that Mark had made to see my dad. What a big heart he had! He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
