Margaret F. “Peggy” (Furlong) White
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, February 14th, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, for Margaret F. “Peggy” (Furlong) White, who died on February 7th, at the Wm. B. Rice Eventide Home in Quincy. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, February 15th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church in Revere at 10 a.m.. Peggy was born and raised in East Boston’s Orient Heights. She attended Boston Public Schools until moving to Revere. She was an alumna of Revere High School Class of 1929. Although, she met met her husband, Edward R. White, Jr., in High School, it wasn’t until several years after graduation, when they both worked together at Suburban Electric company,they fell in love. They were married in Our lady of Lourdes Church in 1940. She and her husband began their family in Revere. She had three wonderful children,Edward III, Karen & Janet, which she absolutely treasured. Peggy led a very active and fulfilling life; she was involved in many groups and activities. She was one of the founding members of the Immaculata Guild for Immaculate Conception School; she was a member of the Revere Women’s Club, The Smart Set as well a bridge player, where she would play with a select group of 12 girlfriends and played every Tuesday evening. Peggy also loved to go dancing on Saturday nights with her husband, then former Revere City Councilor and Mayor of Revere at the Knights of Columbus dances. One of Peggy’s fondest memories of her long beautiful life was attending the Inaugural Ball for President John F. Kennedy in 1960. She worked in the Chelsea District Court from 1962 until retiring in 1981, during that time she became the Assistant Clerk of Courts for Chelsea District Court. Peggy loved life, loved her family and loved people, she had an ageless spirit and people enjoyed her company. She was the dedicated wife of: the late Edward R. White, Jr. of whom she shared 26 years of marriage with. She is the loving mother of: Janet C Case & her husband Roy W., of Warrenton, VA, Edward R. White, III of Revere and the Late Karen A. White & her companion Arthur Argenzio of Revere. She is the cherished grandmother of: Amy C. Jacky & her husband Thomas of Burke,VA, David W. Case & his wife Donna of Silver Springs, MD, Christopher R. White, Edward R. White, IV both of Los Angeles, CA and Lisa White of San Francisco, CA. She is the adored great grandmother of: Nicholas, Christopher & Margaret “Maggie” Jacky and Sean, James & Charlotte Case. She is the loving sister of : Robert Furlong & his wife Molly of Point of Pines, Revere and the late: Beatrice R. Furlong & Thomas Furlong. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She is the survived by her oldest and dearest friend and bridesmaid Ethel (Ferretti) Toomey, whom she shares a friendship of over 90 years, and Two other very special friends in Peggy’s life is Diane DeSantis of Revere and the late Mary “Masie” McCarthy. The family of Peggy would like to personally and publicaly acknowledge all of the nurses, staff and caretakers of the Wm. B. Louise M. (Maglione) DeRosa

(Maglione) DeRosa, at 99 years, died on Saturday, February 8th at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center after a long illness, A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 12th at 10 am, followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church (Revere) at 11 a.m.. Louise was born and raised in Revere, she attended Revere schools. She had worked at several jobs before marrying her Husband Anthony C. DeRosa, in 1936, at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Louise remained in Revere where she and her husband would begin their life together and start their family. Louise very proudly took her role as mother & wife, dedicating time for her children, as well as maintaining her close relationship with all of her younger siblings, who she helped raise & care for. She loved her family immensely and spending time with them was what she enjoyed most in life. She is the wife of the late: Anthony C. DeRosa of whom she shared 56 years of marriage, she is the devoted mother of : Joan C. Raimo & her husband Michael A. of Salem, NH, Louise A. DeRosa of Revere and The late Philip A. DeRosa & his wife Margaret DeRosa of Salem, NH. She is the cherished grandmother of: Mary Baker & her husband Scott of Sandown, NH, Philip A. DeRosa, Jr. & his wife Catherine of Hudson, NH, Christine L. DeRosa of Methuen and Margaret E. “Meg” Mello & her husband Anthony of Salem, NH. She is the adored great grandmother of: Brody Wall, Elizabeth DeRosa, Anthony DeRosa, Antony Mello & Philip Mello. She is the beloved sister of: Antonio P. Edward F. Leyden, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 6th, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere, for Edward F. Leyden, Jr., who passed away on Sunday, February 2nd after a long illness at The Villages at Willow Crossing in Mansfield, MA at 95 years. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, February 7th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Grace Church (59 Nichols St., Chelsea) at 10:30 a.m. Mr. Leyden was born & raised in Revere. He was educated in Revere and was a graduate of the Class of 1938. He entered the United States Navy in June of 1943, hoping to serve hiscountryproudly overseas, but due to a medical condition, he was Honorably Discharged shortly that same year. After leaving the service, he had worked several jobs before beginning a career at Buck Printing Company, where he worked for 30+ years as a “Lithographer.” Mr. Leyden had married his love, Barbara A (Herron), in 1948 and immediately settled in Everett and began to start their family. Mr. Leyden was known to be a “quiet man” but his actions spoke volumes of the man that he was. He was very industrious and was known to build homes and could fix anything; he was a testament of the “Greatest Generation.” He and his wife were very proud parishioners and supporters of Our Lady of Grace Church. He retired at age 65 and continued to stay busy with one of his biggest joys in his life, his 11 grandchildren. In 1990, Mr. Leyden lost his daughter, Kathleen, to her battle with cancer. On December 26th, 1991, he lost his dear wife Barbara. He continued to stay faithful and active; he occupied his time with his children and grandchildren. He would often spend his summers down on Cape Cod with his family. He is the beloved husband of 43 years to the late Barbara A. (Herron). Loving father of Edward F. Leyden, III & his wife Norma of North Reading, William P. Leyden & his wife Jenne of Medford, Carol Leyden-Otto & her husband David G. of Mansfield, and the late Kathleen A. Leyden. He is the cherished grandfather of: Michael Leyden, Michelle Coscia & her husband David, Daniel Leyden, Scott Leyden, Brian Leyden & his wife Amanda, Kristine Leyden, Christopher Otto, Kevin Otto, Sean Otto, Caitlin Otto & Ryan Otto. He is the adored great-grandfather of Lilly Leyden & Jonah Coscia. He is the brother of Joan Derba of Lexington, the late Frederick V. Leyden, Alice Harney & Phyllis L. Miller. John R. Jaynes, Jr.
Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 8th, from 11 to 3 p.m. At the Point of Pines Yacht Club, 28 Rice Ave., Revere forJohn R. Jaynes, Jr., who died unexpectedly, on Tuesday, January 28th, at 68 years, in his Revere home, following a long illness; John was born and raised in Boston, where he attended Boston Public Schools. He was an alumnus of the graduating Class of 1963. Shortly after graduation, he worked various jobs, before beginning his career with Raytheon. He his career began at an entry level position and he worked his way up through the years to an “Inventory Specialists”. Along with his title, he had to have a “High Security Clearance” working on Top Secret projects for the government that he could never divulge any information to anyone but his colleagues, working by his side. John enjoyed his work and time he spent at Raytheon; he was a member of the “Raytheon Bowling League”. When he wasn’t working he would often spend time fishing in Maine at Sebago Lake, but above of all his favorite thing that he loved to do was spending time with his family. John was a known as a dedicated family man. He is the devoted husband to Jo-Anne (Allen) Jaynes, of which they shared 45 years of marriage. He is the cherished father of, Lauri-Anne Jaynes of Haverhill, Sean M. Jaynes & his wife Misty of Brookline and Carrie-Anne Jaynes of East Boston, he is the loving grandfather of Noah Jaynes of Revere and 9 other grandchildren and one great granddaughter Trinity Jaynes. He is the beloved brother of the late, Edmond Jaynes, Frances Jones & Robert Jaynes. Josephine A. (Ragusa) Dionisi

(Ragusa) Dionisi, of Revere, who passed away on Wednesday, January 22nd at the Whidden Memorial Hospital following a brief illness, at 95 years. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 28th at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, in Revere, at 11 a.m. Born and raised in East Boston, Josephine was educated in the Boston Public Schools system. In 1940, she married Philip Dionisi, with whom she began her life and family, including a son & a daughter. They remained in East Boston until moving to Revere in 1966, where she remained. Josephine is a retiree of State Street Bank, where she had 20 years of employment as a Clerical Secretary. Shortly after retiring from State Street Bank, Josephine then went to work at Baybank, in the same field for 17 years, retiring at 76 years of age. For several years, Josephine dedicated her time as a volunteer at the Whidden Memorial Hospital, and also would spend time at the Rossetti Senior Center. In 2001, she lost her husband of 61 years of marriage, Phillip Dionisi. She is the devoted mother of: Philip R. Dionisi & his wife Anne of Salem, and Diane M. Iacuzio & her husband Gennaro “Jerry” of Revere. She is the cherished grandmother of: Maria Dahlgren & her husband Rodney, Theresa Dionisi, and Christopher Dionisi all of Salem, Deanne L. Millie continued diligently to be the devoted mother she always was known for, to her children and grandchildren. She is the wife of the late William F. McCormack, the loving mother of Marie E. Samuel R. Moschella
A visitation with the family will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 1st, 2014 at the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, to be followed by a Memorial Service at 2:15 p.m. in the funeral home. Major Samuel R. Moschella, U.S.A.F., retired, of Palm Bay, Florida (formerly of Revere, Massachusetts), died peacefully on January 19th, 2014. “Sam” was born on December 10th, 1930 and raised in Revere, Massachusetts. He enlisted in the Air Force at a young age and served in the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam as a specialist in EOD. While serving at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee, MA, he met the love of his life, Gale Tutty. Major Samuel was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and he was a decorated Officer. Sam’s service and travels brought him all over the world from Europe to Guam before retiring while living in Maryland in 1970. After retiring, Sam returned back to his roots in Revere, Massachusetts. Sam founded the Chelsea/Revere Home Care Center and became the City Auditor before moving to Florida in 1979. Sam was appointed the City Finance Director and later the City Manager in Margate, Florida. He enjoyed playing as much golf as possible. Sam and Gale moved to Palm Bay, Florida where he was a member at Patrick Air Force base and enjoyed golf at Manatee Cove Country Club. Sam was also an accomplished writer and wrote and published “Pass In Review,” a realistic fiction novel. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. His passion for his family, his dedication to his country and his never ending desire for the perfect golf game will forever be in our hearts and memories. Sam was survived by his wife, Gale Tutty Moschella. He was the loving father to Moira Gianelli and her husband, Stephen, of South Hamilton, MA and Kristine Murray and her husband, Tim, of Beverly, MA. He is the grandfather to Michael, Nicolas and Alexander Gianelli and Griffin and Colin Murray. He was the youngest child of six to Carmine Moschella and Josephine Sorrentino. Sam is survived by one sister, Louise DiBlasi, and one brother, Carmine Moschella, and many nephews and nieces. A military memorial service and burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a date to be determined. A Celebration of Sam’s life was held at the home of dear friends, Brent & Joe Libasci, on Thursday, January 23rd Palm Bay, Florida. Mary J. (O’Hara) Racca

(O’Hara) Racca, who passed away on Saturday, January 18th, at 75 years, in her home surrounded by her loving family, after a hard fought battle with Lung Cancer since November 2011. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, January 25th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus, at 10 a.m. Mary was born and raised in Revere, & she attended Revere schools. Mary remained in Revere for 63 years until moving to Saugus in 2001. Mary became an active and proud parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Parish, where she attended mass regularly. She is a former employee of Wonderland Race Track. Mary’s favorite joy in her life was her enormous family that included her children, grandchildren, great grandson, nieces and nephews and her sisters and extended family. Mary enjoyed traveling with a very special “select group” of friends and family, traveling to destinations around the country and the world.
