Phyllis M. (Burns) Walsh

Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, July 25th, in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for Phyllis M. (Burns) Walsh, who passed at her Revere residence following a lengthy illness, on Sunday, July 22nd. The Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home, following the visitation at 11:15 a.m. and immediately followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Mrs. Walsh was born & raised in Medford attended Medford schools and was an alumna of Medford High School, Class of 1950. Mrs. Walsh spent the greater part of her life as a Revere resident for over 65 years. She married Laurence E. Walsh in November of 1955 & came to live in Revere at that time. “Larry” passed in January of 2007. Phyllis was a devotee of the First Baptist Church of Revere for over 50 years, serving as “Church Collector” for over 25 (twenty-five) years. Phyllis served the church in many voluntary efforts with Church Suppers and Bazaars. However, above all, Phyllis was the quintessence of Wife, Mother, Nana & Grammy. She thoroughly enjoyed the company of her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

She is the cherished mother to Laurence E. Walsh & his wife, Linda of Wilmington, Scott R. Walsh of Amesbury, Richard W. “Rick” Walsh & his wife Lorna M. of West Newbury, Phyllis A. Walsh of Revere & David C. Walsh of Bradford. She is the dear sister to the late Charles Burns, Barbara Spirito & Ruth Proper. She is also lovingly survived by 8 (eight) grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters & many nieces & nephews.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
