Ramon “Ray” Cipriano

Funeral Services & interment were held privately due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, for Ramon “Ray” Cipriano, who died on Sunday, January 31st after a long illness at the Hawthorne Hill Nursing Care Facility in Danvers, he was 85 years old.

Ray was born & raised in East Boston. He was educated in Boston Public Schools. Ray entered the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict & served his country, when he returned, he knew his calling. Ray began his career working in a Mill Factory, & became a millwright, a trade that he mastered through years of work. Ray was a dedicated family man and was extremely hardworking so he could provide for his family. He & his wife raised their 2 daughters in East Boston, until moving to Peabody about 20 years ago. He also had his own business that he worked as a handy man doing various tasks such as carpentry, painting & whatever needed to be fixed. For many years, Ray made custom hand carved name plates, made from various types of wood. These name plates were carved and then hand finished with stains and polyurethane. They became so popular, that he had orders for dozens of them through the years.  Ray was an avid poker player. He enjoyed going to the Casino at Foxwoods to play poker but he also enjoyed the atmosphere. His favorite place to be was always with his family. He enjoyed holidays, birthdays, anniversaries or anytime that they were all together.

He is the beloved & devoted husband of 58 years to Angelina M. (Rizzo) Cipriano of Peabody. Loving father of Lisa Dallamora & husband James of Framingham & Dina Ruggiero & husband Mario, Jr. of Saugus. Cherished brother of Romeo Cipriano of Malden, Gloria Darragh of Peabody and the late Philip Cipriano, Ronald Cipriano, Dolores DiFiore, Nora Laurentano, Netta Joyce, Silvia Antonucci, Armando Cipriano, Olga Carnevale & Ann Silvaggio. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, & grandnephews.

Remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
