Robert L. Cook
Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Robert L. Cook, who died on Friday, November 16th at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Brighton, following a brief illness, at 82 years. His funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 21st at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Memorial Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Revere at 10:30 a.m. Born & raised in Chicago, Illinois on November 7th, 1930, he came to live in Revere 60 years ago. Bob is a Veteran of World War II, Korea, & Vietnam. He entered the Coast Guard in 1948 & served for over twenty years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. Bob also worked for ten years as Senior Sexton at the Immaculate Conception Church & School. He then was appointed to the Revere Fire Department & served ten years as a Firefighter. He is a long-time member of the American Legion Post #61 of Revere & served as their commander some twenty years ago. He is the beloved wife of 60 years to Rosemarie (Coviello) Cook. He is the devoted father of: Robert L. Cook, Jr. & retired Revere Firefighter Ronald S. Cook, both of Revere, & Lynda Cook-Clark of Lynnfield. He is the Cherished Grandfather of: Jill M. Vieira of Saugus, Thomas R. Ward & his wife Jennifer & her son, Owen all of Tewksbury, Ronald & Robert L. Cook, III both of Falls Church, VA. He is the Brother of William & Donald Cook, both of Florida. He is also lovingly survived by his daughters-in-law, Marie Cook of Saugus & Judith Cook of Lynn, & his 2 Great-Grandchildren, Madisyn R. Vieira of Saugus & Mason Cook of Falls Church, VA. Several nieces & nephews also survive him. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
