Robert L. “Robbie” Williams

Family and friends are welcome to pay their last respects on Thursday, September 1, 2022.  There will be a visitation in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE from10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the Homegoing Service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Noon. (Zoom link below) The interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.  The repass will be held at Casa Lucia, 61 Lucia Ave., Revere from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Robert L. Williams or Robbie, as he was so affectionately called, was born, in Boston, MA, on August 20, 1957 and departed this life suddenly on August 21, 2022. Robbie was a resident of Brockton, MA but grew up on Dabney Street (WG4Life), in Boston, and attended English High School.

Robbie was a devoted son to his mother, Ethel Griffin, of Revere, MA and father, Robert Henry Williams, of Boston, MA, both of whom preceded him in death. Father to Cherreitt Williams, Jordan Williams, Jair Toon, Rhys Payton (Justine), Robbie Williams Jr. and Shavon Baskerville whom he loved dearly. Loving grandfather to Arielle, Ava, Rhys Jr., Scarlett Williams and Keldrin Tate.  Devoted brother to Lance Williams (Tracey), Bryan Williams, Allen Williams, Craig Griffin (Dianne), Donna Lamos and Karen Washington. Also, holding a special place in Robbie’s heart was his good friend, Marie Rubino, whom he loved dearly. He leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will miss him dearly.

Robbie’s first love was his family.  He proudly boasted of being the oldest and first grandson. At family functions, he could be found with a mic in his hand providing entertainment or behind a grill cooking with love but wherever he was, he was helping- always giving of his time and efforts.  He was a jack of all trades and if you needed something, you didn’t have to ask because he offered and gave of himself so freely. Giving was Robbie’s love language and he spoke it so eloquently and fluently.  You knew he cared because he had no problem showing love and giving affection.  Family was always greeted with a warm smile, hug, and a kiss on the forehead before being told how much he loved you.

He often placed calls or sent texts simply to “check-in” and say I love you.  A true lion/Leo at heart, he was protective of those he loved and spoke his mind freely.  To know Robbie was to love Robbie!

While family was always first, Robbie’s true passion was music.  He was the founder and manager of Perfect Example- known as King Rob!  He booked shows, performed, held rehearsals and single handedly made a name and created a following for him and his bandmates.  His music brought people together, made people smile and, of course, want to dance.  Robbie did that!

Our lives were forever altered on August 21, 2022…….We lost a father, brother, friend and an amazing man!  We will miss you dearly, Robbie, but take comfort knowing you are now with Ma and Nana!

To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
