Roger W. Sarcia

Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, April 7th in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., for Revere Firefighter Roger W. Sarcia, who died following a valiant battle with ALS on Wednesday, March 28th at the New England Life Center of Stoneham. The Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation in the funeral home at 3:15 p.m. Interment will be held privately. Parking is available left of the funeral home.

Born in Boston, he was a life-long Revere resident & an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1974. He began his career with the Revere Fire Department on December 4, 1988 & retired early due to his failing health in September. He was a member of the Revere Firefighters Union Local #926.

He is the beloved husband of Paula S. (Greene) Sarcia of Oak Island, Revere. He is the cherished father to Master Sgt. Rachel L. Wagner & her husband, Staff Sgt. Alexander R. Wagner of Revere, both with the U.S. Air Force, Jennifer L. Hubbard & her husband, Joseph A. of Windham, N.H., Kristopher T. Sarcia of Revere and Senior Airman John J. Sarcia of Travis Air Force Base of California. He is the adoring grandfather to Kaleigh L., Aiden J. & Brennan J. Hubbard & Korbin R. Wagner. He is the dear brother to Domenic R. Sarcia & his wife, Rosemary of Lynnfield. He is also lovingly survived by his Father & Mother-in-law, John J. & Helen L. (Olsen) Greene of Revere, his Sister & Brother-in-law & nephew, Patricia F. (Greene) Kane & Richard I. Kane & their son, Ryan R. Kane of Nahant. Many proud nieces & nephews also survive him.

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
