Ronald P. McClay

Family & friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, June 26th, 2012 beginning at 10 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Ronald P. McClay, who died on Sunday, June 24th at the Whidden Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness, at 76 years.  The funeral service will be conducted in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m., followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  Born in Boston, “Ron” was raised in Everett & Chelsea, and moved to Revere 21 years ago.  He retired in 1997, as a Supervisor for Center House of Jamaica Plain, a resident home for the handicapped.  He had been at Center House for over 20 years.  After that retirement, he was the delivery person for the former “Floral Studio” of Revere for over 4 years.  Ron leaves his wife, of 30 years, Roberta B. (Dell’Orfano) McClay.  He is the devoted brother of John McClay of Manhattan, New York, & the late Richard McClay, Jr.  He was also the dear Son of the late Richard & Lillian (O’Brien) McClay.  Ron served in the United States Army during peactime from March of 1958 – March of 1960.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the: American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-9376.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
