Family & friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, June 27th, 2013 in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, beginning at 9:30 a.m. for Rose (Polia) Cali, who died on Tuesday, June 25th at the Glenridge Nursing & Care Center of Medford following a long illness.  A funeral mass  will follow the visitation at 12 Noon in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere.  Born & raised in Somerville, she attended schools there before moving to East Boston as a young girl.  She lived in East Boston for many years until moving to  Revere in 1959, where she & her family remained until 1997.  She then moved to Malden & remained there until her death.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother.  She is the cherished wife of 67 years to Frank S. Cali & the devoted mother of Vincent A. “Jimmy” Cali & his wife Paula B. of Peabody (formerly of Revere), & Antoinette “Ann” Moody & her husband Timothy of Wakefield.  She is the adored grandmother to, Mary Rose Burrows & her husband Brian of Dover, NH, Kristen R. Cali of  Revere, Timothy Moody, III & his wife Deborah of NH, Kerri A. Hurley & her husband Jason of Revere, Brian V. Cali & his wife Roxanne of Templeton and Dawn Moody of Malden.  Fourteen Great-Grandchildren survive her.  Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
