Theodore “Teddy” Parker

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, September 17th, 2013 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Theodore “Teddy” Parker, who died on Saturday, September 14th at Beverly Hospital, Beverly, following a long illness, at 88 years.  His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, September 18th at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 660 Washington Ave., Revere at 11 a.m.  Born & raised in East Boston, he lived on the South Shore for several years before moving to Somerville.  When he returned home from the service,he moved & married to Revere.  He entered the United States Air Force in June of 1943 & served until September of 1945.  Teddy served with 8th Army Air Corps in Europe.  He is the recipient of the Purple Heart Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, & the European-African Middle Eastern Theater Medal with 3 Bronze Stars.  His civilian working career was with the City of Revere, as a Deputy Sealer of Weights & Measures.  He spent over 35 years of service with the City of Revere.  He was also the Past President & member of the Revere Loyal Order of the Moose, #1272.  Teddy was the husband of the late Phyllis “Fanny” (Pesce) Parker, who passed in May of 2006.  He is the Fond father of Cheryll A. Cutroneo & her husband Frank of Peabody, Patricia A. DeMaino of Danvers, Jean A. DeSisto & her husband James of Revere.  He is the Cherished grandfather of Erika Dowling & her husband Mark of Groveland, Amy Cunningham & her husband Paul of Wakefield, Nicolas DeMaino & wife Kristine of Foxboro, L J DeMaino & his wife Michele of Danvers, Jenna, Jessica, & Joclyn DiSisto all of Revere.  Also lovingly survived by 10 great-grandchildren & several nieces & nephews.  He was the dear brother of the late: Dorothy, Ruth, Virginia, William, Walter, & Robert Parker Hubschwerlin.  (Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the: Fund for Autistic Children, 22 Meeting House Hill Rd., West Newbury, MA 01985).

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
