Thomas E. Watson

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Monday, August 19, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE for Thomas E. Watson, who died following a brief struggle with Pancreatic Cancer at the Kaplan Family Hospice House of Danvers on Wednesday, August 14th. His Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 20th in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m., and immediately followed by interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Born in Chelsea, he lived in Revere his entire life, in the Oak Island Section of Revere. He was a member of the Class of 1958 at Revere High School & continued on to Wentworth Institute of Boston as a member of the class of 1960. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era in April of 1961 & was discharged in April of 1965 as an Airman 1st Class. He had a 25-year career with Teradyne Corp. as an Electrical Engineer, before joining COGNEX Inc. for five (5) years, before retiring in 2010. Mr. Watson’s greatest joy was his relationships with his family, especially his wife, children & grandchildren.

He is the beloved husband of 58 yrs.to Carol A. (Holden) Watson. He is the cherished father to Albert T. Watson & his wife, Renee of Groveland, Melanie M. Steritti, RN & her husband, Joseph of Beverly & Richard E. Watson & his wife, Maria of Chester, NH. He is the devoted grandfather of Thomas A. Watson & his fiancée Jenelle Sprague, Brien M. Watson & his fiancée, Veronica Stearns all of Groveland, Jon Watson, Kayla Watson, Matthew Watson, all of Chester, N.H. & Paige & Joseph Steritti, Jr., both of Beverly. He is the proud brother of William Watson of Ossipee, N.H. and Judy Studebaker of Revere. Several nieces & nephews also survive Thomas.

Interment

Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne

We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
