William J. “Bill” Brown

Funeral Services & Interment will be held privately for William J. “Bill” Brown, who died on Wednesday, June 3rd at his daughter’s home in East Boston, following a 2-year battle with Lung Cancer, he was 60 years old.

Bill was born in Malden and later moved with his family to Chelsea. He attended both Malden & Chelsea Public Schools. Through the years, they also lived in Everett & Revere. Bill had an instinctive ability to work with his hands. Right after high school he began to work in construction. Most of his life he worked & mastered HVAC, but he never limited himself to just one trade. His skill set was limitless. He did it all; carpentry, plumbing & home remodeling. He was a very hard worker devoted to his family. Bill, although he worked hard, he maintained his motto of living one day at a time & enjoying each one. Bill was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer approximately 2 years ago, but his relentless will to live, didn’t stop him. The COVID-19 pandemic is what made Bill stop working, otherwise, he would have worked on until he was forced to stop. Bill loved his family & being around them. He was an avid reader & enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. He had a fascination with Military Documentaries & Movies, as well as westerns. His other passion was Revere beach and swimming there. Bill will be remembered as being a man with a good heart & keen sense of humor.  On Behalf of Bill’s Family, they would like to acknowledge the wonderful care & treatment he received at the M.G.H Cancer Center.

He is the devoted son of the late Carole A. (Leidinger) Finn & Calvin N. Brown. Beloved husband of Cheryl A. (Cooper) Brown of Revere. Loving father of William Brown of Malden, Timothy Brown of Chelsea, Dayna Lee Brown of Stoneham & Brittany Brown & husband Denis Ramos of East Boston. Dear brother of Christine S. Puccilli & husband Louie of Everett, Stephen D. Brown of Peabody, Calvin N. Brown of Chelsea, Korinna S. McGinley & husband Mel of Everett, Lisa Marie Cyr & husband Steven of Peabody, Dominic F. Brown of Revere & the late  Belinda D. Miscioscia. Cherished grandfather of Courtney, C.J., Aaron & Riley and 1 great grandson, Armani. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.

To all our families, friends, and residents of Revere, East Boston, and surrounding communities of the North Shore,

We would like to announce that after 37 years of caring for thousands of families at our 773 Broadway location, on January 31st, 2023 we will be officially RELOCATING, to our new location at 262 Beach St., Revere.
On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.
Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
Thank you for your friendship and continued support.
God bless you all.
Faithfully,

Your friends at Vertuccio Smith and Vazza.
