John P. “Jackie” Reardon, Jr.

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015 from 3 – 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for John P. “Jackie” Reardon, Jr., who died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 2nd,Reardon, John in the Brigham-Womens’ Hospital, Boston, at 76 years.  His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, September 9th at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), Revere, at 10:30 a.m.

Born in Winthrop, he was raised & educated in Revere, an alumnus of Immaculate Conception High School, Class of 1957.  He went onto college in the Midwest & Emerson College.  He was a Revere businessman & entrepreneur for many years as the proprietor & operator of “Mickey’s” Northshore Café on North Shore Road, Revere, a popular neighborhood lounge.  “Jackie” had a most welcoming & generous nature & personality, traits he inherited from his late Dad, John P. “Mickey,” Sr.  Jack could not pass up the opportunity of joining & then leading a host of religious, fraternal, & social organizations.  He was the Past Grand Knight & longtime member of the Revere Council – Knights of Columbus #179, Past President & member of the Revere Kiwanis Club, a member of the Lynn Chapter of the Ancient & Honorable Order of Hiberians, & Saugus VFW, Post #2346, & member of the Orient Heights Yacht Club of Orient Heights, East Boston, & Cottage Park Yacht Club of Winthrop.  “Jack” served for over six years in the Air National Guard during the Viet-Nam Era, based out of Logan Airport.

During his adult life & continuing onto his very last weeks before his unexpected passing, Jack lived his Catholic faith with classic & humbled generosity.  Many times over the years, he & his Dad quietly were the magnanimous “angels of mercy,” especially to the downtrodden & disenfranchised.  Jack & his Dad never sought any acknowledgement of their quiet generosities to their beloved Immaculate Conception Parish Community Building Fund, or other fraternal & social organizations.  They assumed responsibility for many a debt owed, absolutely, anonymously.

He leaves his beloved wife of 48 years, Frances M. (Augliera) Reardon.  Jackie & Fran moved to Lynn in June of 1970.  He is the devoted father of Kristin M. Fraher & husband, Jay of Lynn, Seann M. Reardon & his wife, Jill Stinebring of Topsfield, & Michael R. Reardon & his wife, Danique of Beverly.  He is also the cherished grandfather of Jenna R. & Jason L. Fraher both of Lynn, Casey F. & Ryan J. Fraher both of Lynn, Kaia P. Reardon of Topsfield, & Aiden M. Reardon of Beverly.  He is the dear brother of Sheila A. Screnci of Saugus & Attorney Michael H. Reardon of Washington, D.C.  He is also lovingly survived by 2 aunts, Virginia A. Silver & Elaine J. Reardon, both of Revere.  He was also the nephew of the late, Grace Fabiano, Joan Benton, Helen E. Orlando, Ruth L. Jonas, Marie B. Gormley, Francis B. Reardon, James P. Reardon, Kathleen B. “Kay” Reardon, Patrick J. Reardon, & Ann E. Reardon.  He was also the dedicated son of the late, John P. “Mickey” Reardon, Sr., & Mary E. (Graham) Reardon.  He is the dear uncle to his special nephew, Jonathan P. Screnci, his niece, Jessica A. Peacock & her husband Charles, all of Saugus, & his niece, Lisa M. Cantalupo & her husband, Steven of Franklin, MA.  He also leaves his sister-in-law, Gloria Augliera of Millis, MA, & many faithful & proud cousins.  He was the brother-in-law of the late Richard J. Augliera.
