Danielle C. “Dani” Cafarelli

Family & friends are invited Jo attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), REVERE for Danielle C. “Dani” Cafarelli, who passed unexpectedly on Saturday, March 24th at the Whidden Memorial Hospital of Everett. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 3rd, immediately following the visitation in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., REVERE at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately.

Born in the former Malden Hospital, she was raised & educated in Revere & lived in Revere for all of her life. She was an alumna of Pope St. John Central High School of Everett, Class of 2002. She spent most of her career in Home Health Care, specializing in the care of the elderly. “Dani” was a gentle girl who spent most of her life relatively close to her dear family.

She is the cherished daughter to Leonard G. Cafarelli of Revere & Mary G. (Yasi) Cafarelli of Malden. She is the dear sister to Jenelle C. Cafarelli & her fiancée, Kevin M. Finn of Revere. She is the adoring aunt to Joseph A. Finn of Revere. She is also lovingly survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and her faithful feline companion “Schnoodle”.

Michael G. Amore

Amore, who passed unexpectedly on Monday, March 19th. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, March 28th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), REVERE at 10:30 a.m., immediately followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born in Malden, Michael was a lifelong Revere resident, before moving to Danvers, one year ago. He was a 1994 alumnus of Revere High School & a 1990 alumnus of Immaculate Conception Grammar School. He attended the Police Academy and was appointed to the Revere Fire Department seven years ago. He is a member of the Revere Firefighters Local 926 & a past Junior Vice Commander of the American Legion Post #61 of Revere for over 8 years. Four years ago, he founded “Amore Electric” of Revere & the North Shore & was working anxiously & completely for his family around the clock.

He is the beloved husband to Jillene M. Amore of Danvers. He is the adored “Dad” to Dominic M. Amore of Revere & Brooklynn M. Amore of Danvers. He is the cherished son of Retired Revere Fire Lt. Gerald A. Amore & Kathleen A. (Ryan) Amore of Revere. He is the devoted brother to Christine M. Malley & her husband, Revere Police Lt. Glenn Malley of Danvers, Kathleen R. Amore & Jennifer E. Amore-Angiulo, both of Revere, Revere Fire Lt. Kevin M. O’Hara of Saugus & Lt. Michael S. O’Hara of North Reading. He is also lovingly survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael is also survived by his faithful four-legged girls, “Lily” & “Lola”.

Peter J. McNeff

Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, March 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), REVERE for Peter Joseph McNeff, who passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 14th, at his Seabrook, New Hampshire residence. The Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home following the visitation at 7:15 p.m.

Peter was born in Everett, raised there briefly and then the family moved to Winthrop. He is an alumnus of Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, Ma., a private school, where he matriculated quickly and was awarded an early Associate’s Degree. He continued onto Harvard Extension & pursued a curriculum in pre-law. For over 33 years, he has had a constant career with the U.S. Postal Service at South Postal Annex as a mail handler. Within the McNeff family, several share the comradery of occupation, i.e., his brother Matt & his sister Maria also work for the U.S. Postal Service. He sought the outdoors and was an enthusiastic traveler and especially enjoyed boating, biking and other outdoor sporting events. Peter moved over ten years ago to Seabrook, New Hampshire.

He is the cherished son of Anne M. (Todino) McNeff of Winthrop & James V. McNeff of Somerville. He is the beloved brother to Matthew J. McNeff & his husband, David J. Russo of Watertown, Maria A. Hawkins & her husband Russell of Burlington, Indiana, Christina M. McNeff & her husband, David Bowles of Portland, Oregon. He is also the dear uncle to Sarah E. McNeff & Keith R. McNeff, both of Winthrop.  Entombment in the Woodlawn Cemetery Columbarium Chapel will be held privately.

Basil A. Bova

Bova, who passed following a lengthy illness at Chelsea Soldiers Home on Monday, March 19th (The Feast of St. Joseph). His funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Friday, March 23rd at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel at Chelsea Soldiers Home, 91 Crest Ave. at 11:00 a.m., immediately followed with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Basil was a 1935 graduate of Revere High School and served with honor in the U.S. Army during World War II, 132nd AAA Gun Battalion, receiving 4 bronze stars. Throughout his career, Basil was President of 20th Fox Record Corporation, President of World -Over Communications, Executive Director and President of New Manhattan Repertory Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of performing arts. He produced and distributed the recording of the Little Drummer Boy for which he was the recipient of the Gold Album Award and Billboards “Record Man of the Year.” He was author of the 2 best seller books, “Christ On Trial” and “Noah 11.”

He leaves his beloved wife of 70 years, Camille M. “Lindy” (Spinelli) Bova. He is the cherished father to Mary Ann Bova-Silva & her husband, Robert, Marguerite L. Bova & her husband, Stephen A. Assad, Basil J. Bova & Melinda K. Ferrante & her husband, Revere Fire Cpt. Steven M. Ferrante, all of Revere. He is the adoring Grandfather “Papa” to Rachel Ferrante-Raffaele & her husband, Christopher, Steven M. Ferrante, Jr. & Katherine Ferrante, Tyler Assad & Michael, Nicholas, Maria & Sophia Silva, all of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by his only great-grandchild; Christopher C. Raffaele & many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews & cousins. He is the dear brother to Rosemarie DeFabio of Revere & the late Katie Ruzzo, Salvatore Bova & Concetta “Connie” Manganiello. He was also son to the late Salvatore & Mary (Messina) Bova.

Mary C. “Tina” (Pace) Adreani

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, March 19th, (the Feast of St. Joseph) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) for Mary C. “Tina” (Pace) Adreani, who passed after a valiant battle with Hypertensive Heart Diesease on Thursday, March 15th at her Revere residence. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, March 20th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) REVERE, at 10:30 a.m., immediately followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

She was born & raised in South Boston, until the family moved to East Boston in the late 1930s. She is an alumna of East Boston High School, Class of 1945. Early in her life, she worked in the garment industry as a seamstress, in Boston’s Garment District. In 1949, she married Louis M. Adreani, also of East Boston, and the couple would move to Revere in 1958. Louis passed in January of 1987. “Tina” was already, then, the mother of eight (8) children. Tina possessed a naivete of worldliness that was gentle and loving, always in concern of the welfare of others, especially her large family.

She is the cherished and treasured mother to Richard L. Adreani & his wife Myrna, Cynthia A. Penta & her late husband Ward 1 Revere City Councillor, Richard A. Penta, Sheila L. Vassallo & her husband, Frank, Raymond B. Adreani & his wife, Loretta, Louis M. Adreani, Jr. & his wife, Karen, all of Revere, Gail C. Forte & her husband, Anthony of Kissimmee, Florida, Domenic A. Adreani & Mark D. Adreani & his wife, Laura, all of Revere. She is also the adored grandmother to 16 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren. She is the dear sister to Grace M. LoGrasso of East Boston & the late Joseph, Frank, Michael, Salvatore & Rose Pace. She is also lovingly survived by many faithful nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.

Georgiann E. (Morecroft) Nickerson

(Morecroft) Nickerson, who passed unexpectedly at her Exeter, New Hampshire residence on Wednesday, March 14th. The visiting hours are on Sunday are from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 3:15 p.m.

Born & raised in Revere, she was a 1972 alumna of Revere High School and a 1974 alumna of the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home-School of Nursing. She worked in several nursing home facilities and Rehabilitation Centers in the North Shore area. She spent a few years at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home and then went onto the newly opened, Louise Caroline Nursing Center of Saugus in the late seventies & early eighties. About twenty years ago, she and her late husband, Ronald A. Nickerson, Sr. moved their family to Exeter, New Hampshire. Prior to that the couple and family had spent about ten years in Peabody. Tragically, Ronnie passed in June of 2008, and the family managed to remain in Exeter. For the past ten (10) years, “Georgi” worked for the Genesis Health Care Group of Amesbury & in New Hampshire. She was known throughout her profession for being a committed and dedicated Nurse & a mentor to young women entering the profession.

She is the cherished mother to Ronald A. Nickerson, Jr. & his wife, Patricia of Lynn &Christopher M. Nickerson & his wife, Hilary M. of Manchester, NH. She is also the devoted & adoring grandmother to Devin J. Nickerson of Lynn & Joseph P. Ouellette & Benjamin W. Ouellett, both of Manchester, N.H. She is the dear sister to Diane M. Brownell of Revere, George Morecroft, Jr. of Chelsea & Norma J. Caporale & her husband, Carol of Suncook, N.H. She is also lovingly survived my many nieces & nephews. Interment will be held privately.

Raymond F. Brinig

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, March 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) Revere, for Raymond F. Brinig, who died ending a twenty-five-year battle with diabetes illnesses. His visitation will be followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held privately at a later time in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. He died on Friday, March 9th at St. Luke’s Hospital of New Bedford.

Born & raised in Revere, he was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1982. The only son of the late Harold B. & Elizabeth J. “Betty” (FitzGerald) Brinig, he lived almost all of his life on Page St., Revere, his mother’s family-home. Raymond had a career with Verizon for over 30 years and retired in 2013, because of failing health. His battle with diabetes & diabetes related illnesses led to his early retirement.

He is the beloved husband to Theresha “Terry” (Andrews) Brinig of Revere and the cherished father to Aleczandre Robert Brinig of Revere & his girlfriend, Colleen Ryan of Salem. He is the devoted brother to Kathleen A. Scherber & her husband, Paul of Danvers. He is also the dear uncle to Daniel P. Scherber & his companion, Amanda Ortiz of Revere & Kelleigh E. “Kelly” Scherber of Danvers. He is also lovingly survived by his grand-nephew, Frankwes Lee Scherber of Danvers.

Thurston E. Ege

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Wednesday, March 14th beginning at 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), Revere for Thurston E. Ege, who passed on Saturday, February 24th at the Mt. Auburn Hospital Cambridge, following a long illness. The Funeral Service will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday, March 14th, following the visitation at 11:15 a.m., immediately followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born & raised in Revere, he was a 1944 alumnus of Revere High School. Shortly after graduation, Thurston joined the U.S. Navy in September of 1944 & served until July of 1946, as Seaman 1st Class. He served on the U.S.S. Arcadia & the U.S.S. Kearny. Early on in his working career, he worked for New England Tel & Tel and latter would make a career as a Foreman Supervisor at General Electric of Lynn. He had a keen interest & knowledge of politics and the environment, which encouraged him to enter politics on two separate occasions—running for ward councilor. Although, unsuccessful he was a strong & knowledgeable environmental activist. He attended many, many City Council meetings, well into his 80s. He was a long-time member of the Revere Lodge of Elks #1171 & the Revere Loyal Order of the Moose #1272.

He is the husband of the late Leah “Stella” (Murchison) Ege who passed in October 2003. He is the devoted father of John E. Ege & his wife, Debra L. of Oak Island, Revere. He is the cherished grandfather to John T. Ege of Lynn, Leah L. Ege of Medford & Justin E. Ege of Revere. He was the dear brother to the late Esther, John F. Russell &Dorothy Ege. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces & nephews.

Joseph Miraglia, Sr.

Family & friends are invited to attend, a visitation on Monday, March 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE, for Joseph Miraglia, Sr. who died on Wednesday, March 7th at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) REVERE at 11 :30 a.m., immediately followed by interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

Born in East Boston, he was educated there at East Boston High School, graduating in 1945. Joe & his family lived in East Boston until moving to the Point of Pines section of Revere, 48 (forty-eight) years ago. He became most active at the Immaculate Conception Parish and joined the Knights of Columbus, Council #179 of Revere. He would fill many offices within the K of C, being appointed Deputy Grand Knight. Within that organization, Joe made many friends; friends that he carried until his passing. For over fifty years, Joe owned & operated “Parkdale Woodworking” of Roslindale, East Boston & Somerville. He was considered to be one of the best “Master Carpenters” in this area. Joe was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Thelma (St. George) Miraglia, who passed in February of 2003.

He is the devoted father of Joseph Miraglia Jr. of Revere & Roberta A. Mitchell & her husband, John W. “Jack” of Chelmsford. He is the devoted grandfather of Erica Copenhaver & her husband, Timothy & Allison Griffin, all of Ft. Myers, Florida, Justin Miraglia of Ayer, Danielle & Michelle Miraglia, both of New Hampshire. He is also lovingly survived by the “sunshine of his life”; his great-granddaughter, Grace Kelli Copenhaver of Ft. Myers, Florida, many nieces & nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. He is the dear brother to the late William Miraglia, Josephine Mazzarella & Mary Bucchieri.

Robert F. “Bob” Gaffny

Robert F. “Bob” Gaffny, passed away on Monday, March 5th after a long and determined battle with cancer and lung disease. He was a long time Revere and Winthrop Resident and former employee of Stone and Webster and Viking Taxi. Born in Dedham, the family moved to Brighton for a short time, before settling in Beachmont, Revere. Bob attended grammar and high school at Immaculate Conception graduating in the class of 1961.  While at Stone and Webster he worked as a Manager for over 20 years and then later as a Driver for Viking Taxi Co. of Winthrop for 15 years before retiring in 2008.  Bob had a passion for coaching Immaculate Conception basketball, watching sports, taking care of his tomato garden and pets as well as watching ocean storms at the beach. He will long be remembered for meeting and socializing with many, people in all walks of life, being a man of conviction and his great sense of humor.

He is the Beloved father to Michael D. Gaffny & his wife, Lucy of Andover., Cheryl B. Floyd & her husband, J. Mark of Georgetown, Kevin Gaffny & his wife, Rosa of Danvers & Jill J. Sewell & her late husband, Robert of Saugus. He is the Beloved Grandfather (Papa Gaff) to Kristina M. Gaffny of Reading, Tyla R., Shawn C. & Shalyn J. Sewell, all of Saugus as well as his Grand canine and feline pets. He is the devoted brother to Eleanor McCarrick & her husband Robert A. McCarrick of Wayland, formerly of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. He is the devoted & faithful friend to Toni Cutrone, with whom he made his home in Winthrop along with their feline companions, “Baby”, “Handsome”,”Panda” & “Minnie” and the late “Zeke”.  He was the son of the late Francis R. Gaffny & Elizabeth F. (Kean) Gaffny.
