Albert E. Ciampoli

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Tuesday, March 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE, for Albert E. Ciampoli, who passed after a lengthy illness at the Bedford VA Hospital of Bedford, MA. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony’s Church, 250 Revere St., REVERE at 11:00 a.m.

Born & raised in Revere, he attended Revere schools & was a 1941 alumnus of Revere High School. Most of his working career was spent in waste disposal, retiring from SCA Industries & Enterprises of MA. after 20 years of service. He joined the Army in March of 1944 and served until May of 1946, as a Pvt. 1st Class & sharpshooter rifleman. As an expert gunner, he served during the Battle of the Bulge-The Rhineland and Central Europe. He was a proud member of the time he spent at the front. He was the recipient of many decorations & citations, i.e., the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal & the Purple Heart. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #61 of Revere, The I.T.A.M. Revere Post #17 of Revere & the Revere Loyal Order of the Moose #1272. Interment will be held privately, in the spring, at New Riverside Cemetery of Alton, NH.

He leaves his beloved wife of 66 years Beatrice L. (Boudrow) Ciampoli. He is the cherished father of David P. Ciampoli & his wife Karen of Saugus, Benjamin Ciampoli & his wife Mary-Lou, Nina Green, Retired Revere Patrolman Paul J.Ciampoli, all of Revere, Karen Messina & her husband, James of Alton, NH & the late Linda M. Shaughnessy & her surviving husband, Paul J. Shaughnessy of Revere. Devoted grandfather of Joseph P. Shaughnessy & his wife Cindy, Matthew P. Shaughnessy & his wife Amy, all of Revere, Michael Ciampoli of Winthrop, Benjamin A. Ciampoli & his wife April Moody of Plaistow, NH, Crystal Mejia & her husband Luis, Albert Whorf & Carissa Messina, all of Alton, New Hampshire & the late David, Paul & Carolyn Ciampoli. He is also lovingly survived by four (4) Great-Grandchildren; Brianna, Amelia, Marlon & Gianna & many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. He was the proud son to the late Antonio & Assunta (Gianantonio) Ciampoli & the muched loved Brother to the late Frances Corulli, Philomena Perdomenico, Annie Russo, Emily DiVino, Susan Baldesari, Quido, Edward, Harry & Qurino Ciampoli.

Angelo S. Moschella

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, March 8th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), REVERE, for Ret. Revere Deputy Fire Chief Angelo S. Moschella, who died most unexpectedly while on vacation in Inverness, Florida, on Tuesday, February 28th at his Florida residence. His funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Thursday, March 9th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), REVERE at 11:00 a.m., and immediately followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born & raised in Revere, Deputy Chief Moschella, was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1942. He entered the U.S. Navy in January of 1943 and served until February of 1946, as a Motor Machinists Mate-lst Class. He would later return to school & succeed as a mechanical engineer. His citations from the U.S. Navy included, WWII Victory Medal, American Theater Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Amphibious Force Insignia: Asiatic-Pacific Medal and the Philippine Liberation Medal. He entered the Revere Fire Department in 1950 and worked his way to the position of Deputy Fire Chief. Considering the times and the preferences against Italian American candidates, the accomplishment as a Deputy Fire Chief was considered almost impossible. He would serve the Fire Department for over 35 years. Both Deputy Chief Moschella & his late beloved wife Antoinetta R. “Netta” (Casella) Moschella, were for many years, devotees of the Immaculate Conception Parish Community. “Netta” passed on June 4, 2015. Deputy Chief Moschella & “Netta” sustained an overwhelming grief, on April 5, 2004, when God called their “Robbie”, a special needs angel, back home to heaven. Although, Robbie was just 37 years, he left a resounding mark on not only their lives, but many many lives across the city and state. The Moschella’s maintained their active membership with the Revere Special Needs program, until their deaths.

Mr. Moschella is the devoted father to Dr. William A. Moschella, DMD & his wife Eileen of Lynn, M. Linda Doherty & her husband Russell E. of Revere & the late Robert S.”Robbie” Moschella. He is the cherished grandfather of William A. Moschella Jr. of Minneapolis, Mn., Justin A. Moschella of Tampa, Fl., Keri-Ann Brugge & her husband Matthew of Eau-Claire, Wisconsin, Brian R. & Jason M. Doherty, both of Revere. Dear brother of Sarah T. Riley of Revere & the late Revere Fire. Cpt. Michael Moschella, Lena Pitrone, Anthony Moschella, Margaret Dipietro, Gerard & Carmine Moschella. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces & nephews.

Anne E. (Smith) Martineau

Funeral services were held privately in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107) Revere for Anne E. (Smith) Martineau who died on Monday, February 27th at the Lahey Clinic of Burlington following a brief illness, at 80 years.

Anne was born, raised and educated in Revere. She attended Revere schools and was an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1954.  Anne was later married and remained in Revere were she raised her family. She was a housewife and a loving and caring mother. She began to work at the Grover Manor Hospital in Revere as a Nurse’s Aide for ten years. Anne later move to Billerica to be with her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and watching her grandchildren grow up.

She was the devoted wife of the late Oliver L. “Babe” Martineau. The loving mother of Maribeth Bruno & her husband David C., Therese P. Flight & her husband Mark & Frank W. Martineau & his wife Karla, all of Billerica. She is the cherished grandmother of Deanna, Marissa, Justin, Christopher, Philip, Olivia & Nicholas and loving sister of the late Frank W. Smith. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. Interment took place in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Shirley M. (Smith) Kezar

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, March 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., for Shirley M.(Smith) Kezar, at the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), Revere. Her Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday at 11:15 a.m. Mrs. Kezar died on Monday, February 27th at the Annemark Nursing Care Center-West Revere Health Center, after a lengthy illness.

Born & raised in Springfield & St. John’s Vermont, the family came to Revere over 80 years ago. As a young lady, she worked within Boston’s infamous Garment district, as a stitcher, for several of the local Garment Houses. She would also be known to Revere Journal patrons & readers, by her publication of many, many poems, in the Journal over the years. Up to her illness, she continued to write poetry. Mrs. Kezar was indeed all about family & spending time with them. She was an extraordinary Wife, Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister & Aunt.

She was the wife of the late Chester A. Kezar who died on June 22, 1981. She is the cherished mother to Joanne F. Ferrara & her late husband John Ferrara Jr. of Revere, Joseph Kezar & his late wife Laura of Berwick, Maine & David C. Kezar & his wife Linda of Chelsea. She is also lovingly survived by 5 (five) grandchildren, ten (10) great-grandchildren & many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. She is also the sister to the late Mildred G. Fleischer. Interment will be held privately at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Orazio “Nick” Coccimiglio

A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, March 2nd at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St. Revere.

Nick was born and raised in Calabria, Provincia Catanzaro, Italy. He proudly served his country in the Italian Army. Nick came to America in 1963. He settled in Revere, where he and his wife raised their family with strong family values. Nick was a very hardworking man and had demonstrated that through his strong work ethic. He worked for many years at Norman Straeger Shoe Counter Co. He later worked as an Electronic Supervisor at Community Workshop in Boston. Nick took great pride in his home in Revere and kept it in pristine condition and well-manicured. He was also known as a loving family man.

He is the beloved husband of 53 years of Elena (Beatrice) Coccimiglio of Revere. Loving father of Trev Coccimiglio & his wife Grace of Revere, Olina Roberto & her husband Anthony of Peabody, Nick Coccimiglio & his wife Jenna of Revere & the Late Dina (Coccimiglio) Ferrera. Cherished grandfather of Paige, Krystalyne, Zach, Giana & Gabriella. Dear brother of Viola Cimino of Revere & her late husband Ralphaele, the late Eugenio & Maria Coccimiglio, Ottavio Coccimiglio, Antonio Coccimiglio, Francesco Coccimiglio & his wife Teresa. Also lovingly survived by his sisters-in-law Frances Coccimiglio of Revere & Matilda Coccimiglio of Calabria, Italy. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. Dorothy “Dottie” (Hohler) Lebel

Dorothy “Dottie” (Hohler) Lebel passed away at 92 years on February 23rd at Care One of Peabody where she had been a resident for the past 4 years. Born and raised in Czechoslovakia. She was educated there and after graduating from high school, she met U.S. Army soldier Lucian J. Lebel. After a short courtship, the couple soon married. The started a family together and shortly after the birth of their first child, they came to live in the United States in 1949, settling in Cambridge and later in Tewksbury. They moved their family to Revere and resided here for over 60 years. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband in 1993. A devoted wife and mother, Dorothy cared for her home and her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, routine walks down Broadway Revere and frequent visits to local diners to share conversation and coffee with friends.

She is the beloved wife of the late Lucien J. “Duke” Lebel. Devoted mother of Lucille E. Liberato and Eddie J. Lebel, both of Revere and Monique M. Lebel-Deacon of Beverly. Cherished grandmother of Wendy, Tina, Justin and Danielle. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.

(Capobianco) Ferrari, who passed on Wednesday, February 22nd, following a lengthy illness at the Parkland Medical Center of Derry, N.H. Her funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home, following the visitation at 12:30 p.m., immediately followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Mildred was born, raised & educated in East Boston and was a 1946 alumna of East Boston High School. She married in 1948 to Albert Ferrari, who passed on March 12, 1988. She spent the majority of her life as caretaker to several family members including her late parents, Antonio & Angelina (DeAngelis) Capobianco.

She is the cherished mother of Brian P. Ferrari & his wife Isabel C. of Derry, N.H. She is the dear sister to Ralph Capobianco of East Boston & the late Fred, John, Rocco & Anthony Capobianco, Anna Lauria & Evelyn Durante. She is also lovingly survived by two (2) sisters-in-law, Rosemary Capobianco of Rowley, Ma. & Karen Capobianco of New Britain, Ct., many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Until 2015, Mildred lived her entire life at her family home on Chelsea St., East Boston, until failing health necessitated moving to Derry, N.H. with her son, Brian & his wife Isabel.

Robert A. Alvino, Sr.

Alvino, Sr., who passed on Tuesday, February 21st at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Melrose, unexpectedly following a lengthy illness. His funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Monday, February 27th at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., REVERE at 10:00AM.

Mr. Alvino was born, raised, educated & lived all his life in Revere. He was a 1941 alumnus of Revere High School. He joined the U.S. Navy in January of 1943 & served until May of 1946 with the rank of Coxswain. Mr. Alvino had a working career with General Electric of Lynn & held the position of Senior Radio Drill Operator for almost forty years. He was a long-time member of the Revere Lodge-SOI, Giuseppe Mazzini Lodge of Revere. Mr. Alvino was also a devotee of St. Anthony’s Parish Community.

He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Procopio) Alvino, who died on September 23rd, 2013 after 65 years of marriage. He is the cherished father to Anthony M. Alvino & his wife Carol of Danvers & Robert A. Alvino, Jr. of Revere, with whom he made his home. He is the devoted grandfather of Anthony J.”TJ” Alvino & his wife Kristi of Beverly, Ma., Paula M. Potvin & her husband Benjamin & Michelle C. L’Italien & her husband Peter, all of Salem, Ma. He is also the dear brother of Charles “Chicko” Alvino of Revere & the late Edward, Paul, Ernest & Frank Alvino, Rose M. “Tina” Giamattei, Sophie Giberti, Helen L. Mastrogiovanni and Louise Marino. He is also lovingly survived by his six (6) great-grandchildren; Molly, Gracelyn, Brent, Jack, Jamison & Cole & many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Carmella A. (Vatalaro) Scialoia

(Vatalaro) Scialoia, who died following a lengthy confinement at her Malden residence on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday February 25th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St.Anthony of Padua Church, 38 Oakes St., Everett at 10:00 a.m.

Born & raised in Hyde Park, the family came to live in Everett for many years, before recently moving to Malden. Carmella was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt & great-grandmother. Family always came first & foremost, as she was the last of her family of five and the Matriarch of the Vatalaro Famiy. She held positions as a salesclerk for the former Bradlee’s Department Store of Medford & prior to that time, she had a working career for the Sweetheart Products of Chelsea.

She was the wife of the late Anthony Scialoia, who passed in 1981. She was the devoted mother to Ann M. Gorrell & her husband Jack of Malden, Christine M. Leary of Revere, Susan A. Scialoia of Malden & Richard A. Scialoia & his wife Susan of Lafayette, LA. She is also lovingly survived by ten (10) grandchildren, nine (9) great-grandchildren & her former faithful son-in-law David Leary, Sr. of Lynn. Many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews also survive her. She was the dear sister of the late Domenic Vatalaro, Mary Monopoli, Joseph Vatalaro & Doris Donahue. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

Joseph J. DeStefano, Sr.

DeStefano, who died following a lengthy illness at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation Center of Peabody, on Friday, February 17th. His funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 23rd at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., REVERE, at 11:00 a.m.

Born in Boston, the family moved to Revere, when Joe was a young boy. Joe lived in Revere almost all of his life & for about twenty years, was a resident of Andover. He was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1952. In his early working career, Joe dabbled in the shoe industry as a cobbler & manufacturer. Latter, he would become one of Revere Beach Boulevard’s pioneers in restaurants and lounges. For many years, he would manage & own several small, but busy, bars, including the Jo-Jo Room, Hurley’s Palm Gardens and the Beach Ball, all located on the infamous Revere Beach Boulevard. For over fifteen years, Joe owned and operated, his last enterprise, “Joey D’s” at Orient Heights, East Boston.  “Joey D’s” staff & the “the gang” it attracted, made it the place to be and be seen. It made “Cheers” seem tame.

Joe is the devoted father to Debra A. Jones & her husband Rodney of Andover, MA, Dawna L. Emma & her husband Philip of Topsfield & Dr. Joseph J. DeStefano, Jr. PhD & his wife Dr. Alicia DeStefano, PhD of Northborough, MA. He is the adored grandfather of Joseph J. DeFabrizio of Amesbury, Zachary Jones of Malden, Kaleb Jones of Andover, Christopher P. Emma of Somerville, Jonathon P. Emma of San Francisco, Calif., Isabella & Mia DeStefano, both of Northborough, MA. Also surviving Joe is his faithful friend & former wife, Anne E. (Mundy) DeStefano of Andover, the proud mother of his children. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph & Anita C. (Marshall) DeStefano. He is the loving & faithful brother to Anita Vinciarelli & her husband Anthony, M. Louise Powers, all of Revere, Marie Lupien & her husband Mark of  Sudbury, Margaret Johnson of Revere, Leonard DeStefano, Carl DeStefano & his wife Shelia, all of Winthrop, Sylvia Michetti & her Robert of Wallington, CT & the late Anna R. Alongi, the Matriarch of the DeStefano Family. Many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews, also survive him. Joe was a long-time member of the Fox Hill Yacht Club of Saugus & a social member of the Joseph L. Mottollo V.F.W. Post #4524 of Revere. Interment will be private.
