Mary D. Alexander
Services and interment were held privately for MARY D. ALEXANDER, who died unexpectedly at her Revere home on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015. Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her family then re-located to Venice, Cailfornia.
She attended school there & was a 1968 alumna of VENICE HIGH SCHOOL, California. Mary lived in California until moving to Revere in 1981.
She is the beloved sister to Catherine Cargill of Placentia, Cailf., Shirley Patterson of Arlington, Texas, David Alexander of Columbia, Mi., Jean A. Peterson & her husband, Jerry of Paris, Tenn., Frederick Alexander of Los Angeles, Cailf., & the late, James E., Richard & Marten J. Alexander. She was the dear daughter of the late James E. & Roxanne (Nierman) Alexander. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, Grand-nieces & grand-nephews. She retired from the IRS ANDOVER, after 25 years of service just recently.

She is the devoted mother of Paula A. Paolini & her husband, Renato P. Jr. & the cherished grandmother of Renato P. Paolini, III, Christina M. Paolini & Anthony J. Paolini all of Revere. She is the beloved sister of Pauline Belmonte & her husband, Anthony of Melrose & the late, Margaret E. D’Amico, Carmella Correia, Julia Mallett, Thomas & John Ricci. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. She was the daughter of the late, Anthony & Concetta (Biasuicci) Ricci.

Born & raised in Boston’s North End he attended several of the local” Boston schools. “DUKE” left the North End & moved to the WOLLASTON SECTION OF QUINCY, over 40 years ago. Most of his life was absorbed in property management as a real estate entrepreneur. “Duke”, as he was affectionately known, had an intense passion for “ballroom dancing”. He seldom missed a weekend at one of the local ballrooms, either on the North Shore or the South Shore. He danced until March of this year.
He was the beloved companion of 40 years to the late Margaret A. Borsari. He is the devoted grandfather to Steven C. Maffeo & his wife, Jacqueline J. of South Weymouth. He is the cherished uncle to Aleta Falzone & her partner, Richard Vitale of Topsfield, Cynthia Willette & her husband, Joseph of Boxford, Vincent P. Rizzo & Malesa Sue Fagone both of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by several other nieces & nephews. He was also the son of the late: Charles & Theresa (Sogliero) Turino & the brother of the late, OLGA M. SKELTON, CARMELA RIZZO, LEONORA GALLO, LUCY CAMPBELL, JOSEPH, ANTHONY, GAETANO & ROGER TURINO.

Born in Medford, he was raised & schooled there, coming to Revere 58 years ago. “Big Jim” as he was affectionately, known, gave over 28 years to the US AIR FORCE & THE US AIR FORCE RESERVES, FORMALLY retiring in 1982. He served with the US AIR FORCE RESERVES during the Viet-Nam-Era & then upon discharge from the AIR FORCE, reenlisted in the Reserves, one day later, on March 20, 1977. In 1974, “Big Jim” founded Century Security Systems of Revere, and for 41 years, the business and operation have continued under the direction of his two sons, Jim Jr. & Scott. For many years, Jim was a member of the Seaview Lodge of Masons, A.F. & A.M. of Revere, serving several times as MASTER of the LODGE. When Seaview Lodge was assimilated to MOUNT TABOR LODGE, he remained active & served for many years. Along with those positions, he also served as secretary & chaplain. Locally, here in Revere he served for many years with the REVERE LICENSING BOARD (ELECTION COMMISSION). His other associations & memberships, include Past President of the Revere Chamber of Commerce & the Revere Rotary Club, and since 1977, a member of the Aleppo Temple Shriner’s of Boston. He maintained a presence from his over 6′ foot stature & welcoming personality. And quite obviously was never reticent, emerging himself in any and all of his duties and responsibilities, However, no role meant more than that of “Family Man”, an outstanding husband, father & especially his loving role as a Grandfather of seven.
He leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Florence M. (Clifford) Dixon. He is the devoted father of Karen M. Dyer & her husband, Garry of Revere, James E. Dixon, Jr. & his wife, Elizabeth Carey-Dixon of Revere & Scott E. Dixon & his wife, Judith of Lynn. He is the cherished grandfather to Nicole M. Corrao of Revere, Michael K. Corraro & his wife, Kristen of Eliot, Me., Melissa A. Vitas & her husband, Lucas of Windham, N.H., Christopher J. Dixon & Katherine E. Dixon both of Revere, Scott E. Dixon, Jr. & Allison A. Dixon both of Lynn. He was the brother of the late, Barbara Cox. Interment will be in the Mt. Tabor Lodge of Masons Lot at WOODLAWN CEMETERY, EVERETT.

Cecilia T. “Lee” (Butler) Liotta
Family & friends are invited to attend a visitation on SUNDAY, Nov. 15th in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), REVERE, for CECILIA THEDA “Lee” (Butler) LIOTTA, who died on Saturday, Oct. 31st at the Academy Manor Nursing Center of Andover, after a long illness. The visitation will be from 12 NOON to 1PM, followed by the Memorial Funeral Service in the funeral home at 1:15PM. Interment will be held privately at a later time.
Born in Boston, she lived almost 60 yrs. in Revere, before moving to Boston’s North End. She attended Revere schools & was a 1934 alumna of Revere High School. Cecilia, as a young girl she loved to sing and had a remarkable voice. She sang in the “OLD” IMMACULATE CONCEPTION” CHOIR, here in Revere & in other neighboring parishes. Most of her working career was as a hostess and waitress for many of Boston’s upper scale restaurants, Patton’s Restaurant, Marliave Restaurant & Mickey Doyle’s. Her career ended here in Revere, at the former Reardon’s Restaurant at Broadway & Fenno St. Her singing always followed her and in the 1960s, she joined the newly formed Barbershop Quartet”THE SWEET ADELINES”, based out of Lynn. “Lee” sang with them for many, many years, as they appeared around the country, for benefits, barbershop quartet conventions and privately for events, and shows. In Boston, “Lee” sang with the quartet at Boston Symphony Hall on many occasions. In her senior years, she began painting, mostly landscapes and nautical themes. Needless to say, she always kept busy, into her latter years. She was the daughter of the late Walter I. Butler & Mary (Martin) Butler. Her father, Walter I.Butler, a Revere native, was an infamous Boston light-weight boxer, known for his speedy delivery & slender stature.
She was the wife of the the late Joseph P. Liotta & the dear sister of the late, Mary (Butler) Doyle-Olivolo & the late Rose (Butler) Leavitt. She is the cherished aunt of James F.Doyle & his wife, Patricia of West Peabody & Benjamin Leavitt of Mississippi, & the late, Frances Doyle & Janice Hoffman. She is also lovingly survived by many grandnieces & nephews & great-grand-nieces & nephews.
Most interestingly, is that “Lee’s” middle name was THEDA, after the renowned SILENT FILM ACTRESS THEDA BARA” who performed at the turn of the late, 1890s thru the 1930s. On July 8th, 2016, Cecilia “Lee” would have arrived at the age of 100 years, remember her with a prayer and a song in your heart.

Born & raised in Revere, Donnie was a graduate of Immaculate Conception Grammar School & an alumnus of IMMACULATE CONCEPTION HIGH SCHOOL, CLASS OF 1948. He entered the US ARMY IN Sept. of 1951 & served until Aug. of 1953 during the Korean Conflict. His beloved wife Virginia B. (Flaherty) Graf, died in February of 2006. Together they opened the old “PAONE’s SPA” on Broadway, REVERE & the old business, returned to be one of Revere’s busiest spots. There you could buy any & all tobacco products, newspapers, magazines, ice cream, coffee, all kinds of goodies & usually enjoy a time of catching up with old friends & the “news” of the day. They maintained their business until the early nineties.
He is the devoted father of GREGORY L. GRAF & his wife, CAROLE J. of Middleton & the cherished grandfather of Zachary Casey Graf & Hannah Grace Graf, both of Middleton. He is the devoted brother of Paul J. Graf of Revere, & the late, Robert W. Graf, Jr. (Revere Fire Dept.), & Edward E. Graf. He is also lovingly survived by his sister-in-law, Lillian “Lil” Graf of Revere & many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. He was also the son of the late, Robert W. Graf, Sr.& Grace E. (Myette) Graf. At a later time the remains of both Donald & his wife Virginia will be interred at the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.

She & her family then moved to Webster Ave. in Chelsea, for many years, before she moved to Admiral’s Hill, Chelsea for almost twenty years in her senior years. For the past seven months, she made her home with her daughter, “Terri” in Dedham. A “Mom” before all else, she was especially devoted to her grandchildren, and they to her.
She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph J. She is the cherished mother of Joseph A. Lombardi of Nahant, Robert A. Lombardi & his wife, Cheryl of West Peabody, Theresa A. “Terri” O’Sullivan & her husband, Michael J. of Dedham, Nina F. Lentz & her husband, John R. Lentz III of Swampscott. She is the adored grandmother of Joseph A. Lombardi, III of Everett, Gabrielle Lombardi of Naples, Fl., Michael Lombardi of Melrose, Lauren Lombardi of West Peabody, Michelle A. & Michael L. She was born in Revere & lived her entire life in Revere, the last 53 years of which were spent at Point of Pines. Mrs. Carey graduated from I.C. High School in 1937, and shortly there after began working as a secretary in Boston. However, after marrying Raymond E. Carey Jr., began raising her family of four. Mrs. Carey, was about family & the enjoyment of their presence. Her late husband, Raymond E. Carey Jr. was co-founder & operator of “KELLY’s” on REVERE BEACH and his father, the late Raymond E. Carey, Sr. was one of REVERE’s most popular Mayors. She was a long-time member of the Revere Women’s Club & a devotee of the former St. John Vianney Church in Point of Pines, Revere. Mrs. Carey has been hailed as a “woman of grace & style”, not only for her elegant persona, but for her striking appearance.
She is the devoted mother of, Maryellen Tortolano & her husband, Francis of Danvers, Raymond E. Carey, III & his wife, Dianne of Marblehead, Kathleen M. Barnes of Newton, NH., & Kevin M. Carey & his wife, Elizabeth of Manchester-by-the-Sea. She also leaves, her 10 adoring grandchildren & 17 great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Born in Boston on Oct.15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Michael & Margaret(McPhee) Mastrangelo. Caroline was raised in E. Boston & attended Sacred Heart Grammar School & was a 1951 alumna of Most Holy Redeemer Central High School of E.B. She & her dear husband of 61 years, George R. Burge were residents of Peabody for over 45 years, moving to Putnam Farm two years ago. Caroline worked for N.E. Tel.& Tel. for over 40 years, retiring in 1988 & was a lifelong member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a devotee of St. Ann’s Parish Community, Peabody. She & her husband, were members of the Ossipee Bluffs Assoc. where they enjoyed their vacation home for 30 years. Besides her beloved husband, George, she is survived by 3 children.
She is the devoted mother of Margaret J. Carlson & her husband, John C. of Danvers, George J. Burge of Peabody, Mark M. Burge of Lynn & the late Kevin P. Burge. She was the cherished grandmother to Christopher, Ryan, Stacy & Danielle Burge, Kimberly (Carlson) Heinis, Andrea (Carlson) DelloRusso. She is the dear sister of Joanne M. Louise R. (Fontana) DiNitto
Services & interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett were held privately this past week for Louise R. “Auntie Ge”(Fontana) DiNitto, who died Sunday, Oct. 18th, following a long illness at Life Care Center of Billerica.
Born in Boston, she was a resident of Revere since 1961. As a young woman, she worked in Boston’s Garment District as a stitcher for several manufacturing houses. Three years ago, when her health began to fade, she made her home with her niece, Yvonne Spagnoli, in Billerica. “Auntie Ge” loved many things, but cherished the moments she had with Yvonne, her daughter Marissa & her husband John Spagnoli. Her wit, marvelous humor & laughter will be truly missed.
She was the beloved wife of the late Mario DiNitto, who passed in March of 2003. She was the dear sister to Josephine Grenga & her late husband Carlo of Revere & the late Anita Ceci, & Cosmo DiNitto & his late wife Elizabeth. Besides Yvonne Spagnoli & her husband, John & their daughter Marissa, with whom she made her home, she leaves several other nieces & nephews. She is also survived by two sons, Cosmo G. DiNitto & his wife, Katherine of Lynn & Walter R. DiNitto & his wife, Lynn of Danvers and several grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
