Albert A. Nicotera
Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Wednesday, November 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., for Albert A. Nicotera, who passed following a long illness on Tuesday, November 5th at the Bedford Veterans Medical Center. His Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 12:15 p.m., and interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
Born & raised in Everett, he was the son of the late Agazio & Antonetta (Voci) Nicotera. He attended Everett High School and immediately entered the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Nicotera was a Senior Truck Driver for Local 25, Teamsters Union all of his working career. Mr. Nicotera & his dear late wife, Lillian M. (Salucco) Nicotera, spent over 67 years together until her untimely passing on January 4, 2018. Although childless, they considered their nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews as their own. They were fiercely protective of their extended family & always delighted with their visits. They moved to Seabrook, New Hampshire in 2010 to be closer to their family. Their family, near and far, provided them with extraordinary care.
Albert is survived by his sister-in-law, Linda M. Anderson & her husband, Robert of Seabrook, NH & his brother-in-law Roger Salucco of Danvers. He was the brother-in-law of the late Florence Donovan, Joseph, Jerry & Carmen Salucco. He is also survived by many devoted & proud nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. He was the brother of the late Yolanda Moscritolo, Catherine Pagnini, Virginia Murphy, Amanda Lehman, Camille Scheri, Orlando A., Anthony, Domenic & Joseph Nicotera. Albert was the last of his siblings.

Rita M. (Kirk) Pizzi
Rita M. (Kirk) Pizzi, 87 years of age, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 6th at Don Orione Home, East Boston. Family and friends are invited to express their respects and condolences at St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop Street, Winthrop on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 beginning at 9:00am. Immediately to follow a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
Rita was a lifelong resident of East Boston, member of the Star of the Sea Parish and St. Mary’s graduating class of 1950. On November 11, 1951, Rita married her only love, Thomas “Johnny” Pizzi at Star of the Sea. In the years to follow, she was blessed to be the mother of five children. It was very important that she raised her children with a strong faith in God and to have a Catholic education. Rita was a dedicated mother and wife. She was very involved in school activities, a den mother in the Cub Scouts and proud to drive the East Boston High Cheerleaders in the Columbus Day Parades. Rita was a mother who lead by example and her children were very proud of her. Rita’s faith was paramount and she demonstrated it daily. She was an active parishioner at Star of the Sea Parish. In later years, she became a devotee of the Most Holy Redeemer Parish in East Boston and the St. John the Evangelist in Winthrop. Prayer was as important to Rita as taking a breath. Rita would always greet you with a warm embrace promising her prayers for you, truly a woman of God. Her deep faith allowed her to have peace in any situation, because she believed in the power of prayer. After her children were grown, she began a working career at Boston Logan International Airport. Rita loved to cook for holidays and special occasions. She truly enjoyed knitting and crocheting beautiful afghans, quilts, hats and scarves for winter, and often gave them as gifts. Rita always cherished every family gathering with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was the devoted wife of 52 years to the late Thomas J. “Johnny” Pizzi. Loving and caring mother of John T. Pizzi & wife Glenda of Waltham, Patricia Pizzi Gamble & husband Ron of Marlborough, Stephen M. Pizzi and wife Karen of Revere, Donna Pizzi Giglio of Winthrop, and Ritamarie Pizzi DiSciscio & husband William J. DiSciscio Jr. of Winthrop. Adored Nana of Elizabeth, Michelle, Tanya, John Jr., Stephen Jr., Tina Marie, Rayna, Alannah and Nicholas. And proud great grandmother of ten great grandchildren. Dear sister of the late Ruth O’Brien, Nicholas “James” Kirk, Hazel Fitzpatrick, Earl “Buddy” Kirk, Irene M. Rotondi, Alice E. Oldham, Jean E. Fiatarone, and Patrick Kirk.

She was raised in Roslindale and educated in Boston Public Schools and is an alumna of Roslindale High School, Class of 1963. Sue was later married and had one son, Ricky. She was a devoted housewife & mother. She remained very close with her parents and sister until their deaths. She was a very quiet and kind woman who enjoyed the company & presence of her family.
She is the wife of Richard A. Fagone of Revere. The loving mother of the late Richard “Ricky” Fagone. Loving sister of the late Theresa Lou Stack. Cherished aunt of Bryan E. Stack of Birmingham, AL and Kimberly Beaupre & her husband Bryan of Derry, NH. The adored grand aunt of Sarah E. & Victoria G. Judith Ann “Judy” Bryson
Judith Ann (MacLeod) Bryson, 61, of Revere, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4th, 2019, with her family by her side. Judy was born February 21, 1958 in Boston, Massachusetts to Ernest V. Frongillo Jr. and Elizabeth A. (MacLeod) Frongillo, who predeceased her. Judy was a proud mother of Seneca J. Bryson of Fitchburg, MA, Batrice M. Bryson of Waltham, MA, Natasha M. Bryson of Revere, MA, John Michael Church of Revere, MA and, Mark Anthony Church of Revere, MA. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Samone, Jada, Quenten, Adrian, Nicholas, Noah and Anthony Lucas. Judy was also the loving sister of, Linda Scoppe of Revere, MA, Debbie Nickerson & her husband, Kenny of Revere, MA, Diane Knopf & her husband Corey of Tewksbury, MA, Robin McArdle & her husband Brandon of Merrimack, MA, Lori Del los Santos of Revere, Terry Haley & her husband Bob of Tewksbury, Pam McCusker & her husband Joey of Lynn, and Beth Frongillo of North Hampton, NH. Judy also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much.

Robert N. “Bob” Scrima

Robert Nicholas “Bob” Scrima, whether you called him “Bob”, “Bobby”, “Uncle Bob”, “Grandpa Bob” or “Mr. Scrima”, he was a force to be reckoned with for his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cherished friends and a long list of clients throughout the years as a co-owner of both B&B Tax Service and R&R Insurance with his longtime partner, Bob Marino. Robert was born on January 1, 1943 in East Boston to Frank and Helen (Addario) Scrima and lived in East Boston. He was an Alumnus of Boston English High School and Suffolk University. He began his career as an accountant at P. Tavilla Co. in Chelsea before establishing his partnership with Bob Marino. He married the love of his life, Teresa (Catino) in 1966 and the couple lived in Revere. Robert was an active and long-standing member of the St. Anthony’s Church Holy Name Society and also served on the Revere Election Commission for many years. He was a loyal supporter and parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church in Revere and also served alongside his wife Teresa as a Eucharistic minister.
He is the beloved husband of 53 years to Teresa A. “Terry” (Catino). Cherished father of Frank Scrima & wife Andrea of Saugus & Maria E. Scrima of Revere. Dear brother of Anthony Scrima & wife Nancy of Everett. Also lovingly survived by his 2 grandchildren, Alexis & Zachary Scrima, both of Saugus & by his amazing “108” years young aunt Mary Ricci of East Boston. He is also lovingly survived by his nieces, nephews, cherished friends and former clients. The family will cherish memories of all the family dinners and get-togethers throughout the years, whether these were weddings, graduations, special occasions or championship sporting events. Bob’s fierce love of his family and friends, the music of his generation, client relationships and the fortunes of the Boston Red Sox will be fondly remembered by all that were fortunate enough to have known him. Always the first to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate, his watchful eyes will forever be upon us. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose and all the caregivers from Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of New England in Woburn and Oosterman Rest Homes in Melrose that provided compassionate care to him throughout his illness to the end.

Elizabeth E. “Bette” (Raulins) O’Brien
Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, November 8th, in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., for Elizabeth E. “Bette” (Raulins) O’Brien, who passed in the loving presence of her God & her devoted family. Mrs. O’Brien died on Friday, November 1st (The Feast of All Saints) at the Devereux Nursing Care Center of Marblehead, following a lengthy confinement.
Born & raised in Revere, she was an Immaculate Conception “girl” from inception, attending I.C. Grammar School & as an alumna of IC High School, Class of 1946. Soon after graduation she began working with N.E. Tel & Tel (Verizon) for over 35 years. She rose quickly in the ranks, as “Head” or “Lead” Operator” & then onto managerial & executive levels at the Franklin St. NE Tel & Tel & main office (often referred to as the “Motherhouse”) “Bette” came from a family of long-time working telephone workers, who appreciated their secure & pleasant work. The “girls” sought out all the overtime they could muster always holding plans for the future. Their time, maturing, was outstanding & so much an ingredient of the “the greatest generation”. Never forget the family you were blessed with and the joy of early years. Although, she was the first born to Dorothea E. (McLaughlin) Raulins & Kenneth F. Raulins, her baby early childhood brother, Kenneth F. Raulins, Jr., died early at 5 months from early childhood disease. Thusly, “Bette” was raised as an only child, enjoying the abundant attention showered upon her, for her “larger than life personality” & her absolute stunning good looks. She never ever throughout her life, lost the gift of humility, keeping the welfare of her dear & devoted family first & prime. Friends and their well-being followed until “death did them part…” Bette referred to her role as Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother as the most exciting and rewarding influence on her life. Early in her young life, as a Mother, she became absorbed in the many teacher-parent organizations at Immaculate Conception & subsequently, also became involved with the volunteering opportunities in the Parish. “Bette” was also a long-standing member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She is the beloved wife of the late Revere Fire Lt. William F. O’Brien, who passed on Oct. 9, 2000. Cherished mother to Donna M. O’Brien-Martinson & husband Gus of Reading, Debra A. Edward J. “Eddie” Oyler
A Graveside service was held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne for Edward J. Olyer, who died peacefully with his loving family and wonderful nursing staff by his side on Wednesday, October 30th at the Bourne Manor in Bourne, after a long illness. He was 72 years old.
Eddie was Bourne in Batavia, New York and was later raised & educated in Elmira, New York. He entered the United States Army in 1966, serving his country proudly during the Vietnam Era. He was discharged in 1968 and was a recipient of the “Purple Heart”. When Eddie returned home to New York, he realized he wanted a change, so he hitched a ride with a truck driver with the destination being Cape Cod, MA. Eddie quickly knew that Falmouth would be his home & he resided there for over 50 years until his passing. It was there he built his life and worked at various gas & repair stations before he began a successful career with the Steamship Authority. He worked in various areas at the Steamship Authority, but most recently, he was in the Parking Area. His bubbly and friendly personality certainly made people feel welcome when coming & going to and from the Cape & Islands. Ed had a zest for life; He was a quiet & friendly man who loved to laugh. If you knew Eddie you may have scratched a lottery ticket with him, had a laugh at the grocery store or even attended an AA meeting with him.
He is the proud & loving father of David Copeland of Cape Cod & Christine L. Murphy of Lynnfield. He is the adored grandfather of Kai Copeland, Alyssa & Daniel Murphy. He is the dear brother of 9 brothers & sisters, living & deceased. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews and extended family and friends. He was loved by many and would always leave you with a smile on your face. If you wish to remember Eddie, go out & buy a scratch ticket, win big & say a prayer for him, he will hear you!

Ronald J. Webber

(Paterna) Webber who died on March 15th, 2019.
Ron was born & raised in Norwood. He was an Alumnus of Norwood High School, Class of 1966. Immediately after high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country during the Vietnam Era and unfortunately due to a serious accident while serving, he was forced to be honorably discharged in 1968. Ron returned home and became an autobody technician apprentice. He remained in the industry while he mastered his craft. He began a career at Norwood Buick where he had worked for 30 years before retiring. He married the love of his life, Janice (Paterna) & the couple lived in Walpole & Millis. Ron was an active & long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus of Norwood Council #252. On June 18, 2019, Ron received the honor of becoming a Third-Degree Knight. He loved saltwater fishing down on Cape Cod & was an avid racquetball player and skier. Ron was also an avid sports fan of Boston Sports. He and his wife were both Patriots fans and regular season ticket holders. The one most important aspect of his life was his love for his wife, she meant everything to him. Shortly after the loss of his wife, he relocated to Arizona but due to his continued failing health & the loss of his wife, he passed shortly after moving there.
He is the proud & loving husband of 48 ½ years to the late Janice T. (Paterna) Webber. He is the devoted son of the late Robert J. & Irja (Salonen) Webber. He is also lovingly survived by his sister in law Maria A. D’Amico. He is the cherished uncle of Maria Cummings & her husband Robert & their children, Tayla M., Robert A. & Hanna E. Cummings, all of Lancaster, NH. He is also lovingly survived by several cousins and friends.

Joe was born & raised in East Boston. He was educated in Boston Public Schools and was a proud graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1966. After High School, Joe had a deep fascination for automobiles and worked in the auto parts field to broaden his knowledge. He was a model employee of several of the local area auto parts stores. His customer service skills were exemplary, and he spent over 25 years working at Lappen’s Auto Parts in Revere. Joe led a very simplistic life and was an extremely humble & faithful man. He was a very dedicated Boston Sports Fan and especially loved the Boston Red Sox.
He is the loving son of the late Robert J. Bagley & Mary M. (Perry) Bagley. Beloved brother of Margaret E. “Marge” Chiaraluce of Swampscott & her late husband Alfred Chiaraluce. Cherished uncle of Philip A. Caponigro, Joseph S. Caponigro & his wife Kelly & Carlo E. Caponigro & his wife Francesca. Dear granduncle of Joseph Caponigro & his wife Brittany, Katelyn Gillis & her husband Andrew, Gina, Natalie, Jaymie & John Caponigro & great granduncle of Joseph & Jackson. Mary (Caccamesi) Esposito

She was proudly 103 years old. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Boston.
Mary was born in Villarosa, Sicily, Italy. At the young age of 12 years old, Mary along with her parents & siblings were about to board the ship that would take them across the Atlantic to come to America with much excitement & opportunity awaiting them. Mary was denied boarding the ship because she had a case of conjunctivitis. The family still boarded the ship for their journey to America, leaving Mary in the safekeeping hands of a group of nuns. It would be the following year that Mary lived apart from her family, before she was able to join them in America. She journeyed across the Atlantic with an aide and began her life in East Boston with her family. Mary was 1 of 9 children, of which 5 babies died in Italy. Her parents had named 2 of the infants Mary, but they passed away. Mary was their third child named Mary and survived. Much like her life she showed at a very early age her persistence and willingness to persevere. At the age of 19, once again Mary’s strength was put to the test when she was diagnosed with tuberculosis. She was quarantined for 10 months and miraculously survived & fully recovered, leaving the doctors in complete amazement. As a young woman, Mary worked in Boston’s “Garment District” as a sticher. Mary went back to Italy for a visit and it was there that she would meet her future husband, Attilio. Mary returned to Boston without him. For 2 years they would have a transatlantic romance, writing letters to one another until they reunited and resided in Revere where they would have 1 son, Anthony. Mary began a career at Jordan Marsh in downtown Boston, where she worked as a Saleswoman. She held that career for 35 years. Mary was always known for “Breaking all the Rules”. With all of her trial & tribulations she never lost her zest for life or people. Her favorite past time was sitting around the table sharing a cup of coffee and telling stories about her life and interests. Her most important part of her life was her family, especially her son and his wife Laura, who became the daughter she never had. Although she was 103, years old she was an ageless wonder and the matriarch of her family.
She is the beloved wife of the late Attilio A. Esposito. Proud & loving mother of Anthony A. Esposito & his wife Laura E. of Plymouth & formerly Quincy. Dear sister of the late Charles Caccamesi, Libby Tranfaglia, & Tina Tritto. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.
