John F. Errera

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, January 8th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St. ,Arlington, for John F. Errera, who died on Tuesday, January 3rd, at the Mt. Auburn Hospital of Cambridge, unexpectedly. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, January 9th at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Agnes Church, Medford St. , Arlington at 11:30 a.m.

John was born & raised in Arlington, lived his entire life there & was a 1967, alumnus of Arlington High School. He also attended University of Massachusetts at Lowell, majoring in Computer Science. He spent his early career as a High Tech computer analyst for Jordan Marsh Co. 0f Boston for over 10 years. Later he would specialize in contract work as a computer programmer for random companies. He retired in 2011, as a contract programmer for Gillette Co. John’s true legacy was his acumen & true love of all things, Boston sports, especially the Patriots & the Bruins. His perfect attendance to games, etc is legendary. His extended family of sports’ enthusiasts is historic, and the memorabilia he has acquired is enviable. John is a proud founding member of the “Friends of Arlington Hockey”, a “Booster Club” for raising funds for the members of the Arlington Hockey team, a special favorite of John’s charities.

John was the beloved son of the late Peter F. Errera, Sr. & Emma (Mosconi) Errera. He is the devoted brother of Peter F. Errera Jr. of Arlington, with whom John Made his home, Katherine A. “Katie” VanDorp & her husband, Adrian E. of Marblehead & the late Nancy M. Bostley. John is the cherished cousin of Mary M. (McCabe) & David J. MacKenzie & their daughter, Atty. Meghan K. MacKenzie, all of Wayland. Also lovingly survived by many other cousins, his brother-in-law, Paul G. Bostley of Marblehead & an extended family of sports’ enthusiasts. Interment will be in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.

Joseph R. Molinari, Sr.

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Friday, January 6th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte.107), Revere.  His funeral will be conducted from the Funeral Home on Saturday, January 7th, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.) in Revere.

Joseph R. Molinari, Sr., 86, died following a lengthy illness at his Revere residence on Sunday, January 1st, 2017. Born on October 24th, 1930 to George & Marguerite (Heyer) Molinari & raised in Medford, Joseph was an alumnus of Medford High School, Class of 1948. Immediately following his graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force & served until July of 1952 when he was discharged as an Airman 1st Class. He worked as a school custodian with the Revere School Department and joyfully retired in 1987.  He delighted in spending his retirement in Palm Harbor, Florida where he continued an active lifestyle. Joe was a member of the Revere Council Knights of Columbus #179, the Winthrop Lodge of Elks & was a member of the Danvers Fish & Game Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting & bocce and was an avid wrestling and Boston sports fan.

He enjoyed a loving 44 year marriage with his late wife Marie E. (Fedele) Molinari. He is the devoted father of Joseph R. Molinari, Jr. of Palm Harbor, Fl., Susan M. Molinari, Lisa A. Molinari & her partner, Phillip Adamson, all of Revere. He is the proud grandfather of Elijah & Noah Adamson, both of Revere. He is the dear brother of Marguerite Remick of Reading, William Molinari & his wife Janet of Old Orchard Beach, Maine & the late Louis & George Molinari & Evelyn Holey.  He is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Frances M. (Haas) Kleinfeldt

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, January 5th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107), REVERE for Frances M. (Haas) Kleinfeldt, who died on Saturday, December 31st, 2016 at her Beachmont residence. Although her health had been failing, her death was most unexpected. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday, January 6th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach Street and Winthrop Avenue), REVERE at 10:00 a.m.

Frances was born in Winthrop, and lived all of her life in Beachmont, Revere, graduating in 1953 from Revere High School. A devoted Mom and Nanny first, she worked as a saleswoman for the Host Gift Shop at Logan Airport for over 25 years. She loved photographing every family celebration and making albums for each branch of the very large Haas clan. She also enjoyed bowling, Bingo, playing cards, collecting a variety of souvenirs from around the world, especially unique spoons, and entertaining her friends, relatives, and co-workers in her home.

She was the widow of the late Ronald Kleinfeldt. She is the devoted and much beloved mother to Katherine M. Kleinfeldt and Kim Kleinfeldt-Silva-Gidaris and her husband, John Gidaris, with whom she shared her house in Beachmont. Her love for and devotion to them has been returned with equal measure of love and care. She is the proud and cherished Nanny of Kirsten M. Silva and her husband, Matthew Walkey of Salisbury, Ma. She is the dear sister of Helen R. Haas and her husband, Leroy Sidman of Desert Hot Springs, CA; and the late Doris K. Simpson, Robert J. Haas Sr., Frederick Haas Jr., Henry Haas, Arthur Haas, Warren Haas, and Alice Dowd. She is also lovingly survived by her two childhood friends, Carol A. Tye of Revere and Mary Lou Hayes of Charlestown; many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and neighbors who have treasured her companionship for years. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born & raised in Revere, the family moved to Malden when “Ginny” was a young girl. She is a 1961 alumna of Malden High School. For many years, she worked as a Home Care Technician & Caregiver for Intercity Home Care Inc. of Malden. Her fine reputation throughout the Home Care Profession is legendary & well earned. “Ginny” created a ministry out of her work, always providing the very best care available to her clients. She enjoys the same acclamation from her immediate and extended family.

She is the beloved wife of 51 years to Morgan J. Mulkerin. She is the devoted & adoring mother to Camille A. “Cammy” Nappa & her late husband Massimilliano C. “Max” of Malden, Morgan P. Mulkerin & Andrew J. Mulkerin & his wife Kerri, all of Billerica. She is the cherished grandmother of Kaitlin M., Marissa K., Morgan C., Shawn P., Lindsey E. & Drew J. Mulkerin, all of Billerica, Massimilliano C. “Max” Jr., Anthony M. & Joseph M. Nappa, all of Malden. She was the dear sister of the late Robert E. Ricciardelli. She is the daughter of the late Angelo M. & Camille (Pelosi) Ricciardelli & the niece to Marguerite & Ermanno A. Belgiorno of Revere. Carol L. (Dodwell) Pesce

(Dodwell) Pesce, who passed unexpectedly on Thursday, December 29th 2016  at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, January 4th at 10:00 a.m, followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 11 :00 a.m.

Born & raised in Chelsea, she was a 1955 alumna of Chelsea High School. After moving to Revere, over fifty years ago, Carol joined the Revere Police Department as a Matron/Traffic Supervisor, a post she held for over 25 years, retiring in 1999. Carol thoroughly enjoyed her position and particularly enjoyed taking care of the children. Carol would enjoy meeting her “kids” as they got older, and would take time to acknowledge her & greet her. For about 15 years, Carol also was a senior hostess at DeMaino’s Restaurant, in Revere, where many people would be made to feel like family, as Carol would often remember where they preferred to be seated and their cocktail of choice. She would have celebrated her 80th birthday on January 1st, as she was on the very tail end of the “greatest generation”. Their  generation is remembered for their extraordinary work ethic & loyalty.

She leaves her beloved husband of 60 years, Frank Paul Pesce, Jr. She is the cherished mother of Frank Paul Pesce, III of Revere & Phyllis M. Addario & her husband, Carmen R. of Beverly. She is the devoted & adoring grandmother to Gianna M. Langis & her husband Matthew of Amesbury, Ma. Also lovingly survived by Frank’s family, her very dear brothers & sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews. Carol always regarded her in-laws as her biological sisters & brothers, and they in turn returned that affection & dedication. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Philomena (Spinazzola) Marotta

Family & friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass on Thursday, December 29th at 11 :00 am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St. ,Revere, for Philomena (Spinazzola) Marotta, who died after a brief illness at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Monday, December 26th. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Interment is private.

She was a life-long Revere resident & a 1936 alumna of Revere High School. Her’s was a varied & interesting career. During War time (WWII), she was a seamstress in the garment area making servicemens’ uniforms. She was a creative & industrious worker, always, enjoying working with fabric. Her family & friends relied on her to hem a dress, shorten mens’ trousers, “let-out” , “take in” and recreate anything she deemed needy. Her talents would lead her to a very fine job as a seamstress for the once most popular and elegant “French Shoppe”  in Filene’s Boston store. After that segment of her career, she would find a position with Bradlees Dept. Store of Chelsea as Head of Fabrics & Selections. “Philly” would remain there until retirement. As Department head, she was responsible for the creation & installation of the many Mannequin Vignettes throughout the entire department store. While at Bradlees, she maintained a “Sewing School” for the general public. Throughout her long life, her love for the arts & crafts were manifested by the many beautiful artifacts decorating her home.

She is the wife of the late Albert Marotta. She is the cherished mother of Eileen Marotta-Johnson & her husband Arthur of Westerly, R.I., Maria Marotta-Dillon & her husband, Matthew of Derry, NH & the late Phyllis Marotta-Sasso. She is the adored grandmother to Kelly A. Nichols-Moher of Manchester, NH. Dear sister of the late Emma Bellafatto, Mary Woods & Andrew Spinazzola. She is also lovingly survived by many nephews, grand-nieces & grand-nephews.

Jane M. (Sartori) Brunelle

(Sartori) Brunelle, who died on Friday December 23rd at Penacook Place in Haverhill, following a long debilitating illness. Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, following the visitation, with a funeral mass being celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), REVERE, at 11:00 a.m.

Born & raised in East Boston, she is an alumna of Fitton Central High School, Class of 1954. She continued onto Emanuel College and left early to start her family. She later returned to Emanuel, in the 1980s, to win her Master’s degree in Music Education. For many years, Jane, was a most popular childrens’ Piano teacher from her Beachmont home. In the late sixties’ & until 1999, she worked for the Archdiocese of Boston as a Choir Director & Parish Music Director. Her full love for performance was her parish home of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Beachmont, Revere. She would spend several years, over 20, founding & directing a “Childrens’ & Adult Choir” at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and would be their closing Director until the parish was suppressed. She also experienced interim appointments to the Immaculate Conception Parish of Revere, St. Joseph’s. Parish of Malden, St. Mary-Star of the Sea Parish of E. Boston, St. Joseph-St. Lazarus Church of Orient Heights, E. Boston & Church of the Incarnation of Melrose.
She is the beloved wife of 59 years to Frederick J. “Keith” Brunelle. She is the devoted mother to Stephen K. Brunelle & his wife, Ellen of Kingston, N.H., Brian K. Brunelle & his wife, Patricia L. of Peabody, Kathleen M. Brunelle & her wife, Kathy DiFraia of Amesbury, Ma & Jacqueline M. DeSpirito & her husband, Michael of Winthrop. She is the dear sister to James G. Sartori & his wife, Rosemarie of Lynnfield & Paul J. Sartori & his wife, Joanne of Andover. She is also lovingly survived by 11 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren & many nieces, nephews, Grand-nieces & Grand-Nephews. Interment will be held privately.

Charles J. Spellman

Family & friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, December 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Rte. 107) REVERE for Charles J. Spellman, who passed following a lengthy illness at the Sawtelle Family Hospice of Reading on Friday evening, December 23rd. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, December 30th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in the Immaculate Conception Church (Corner of Beach St. & Winthrop Ave.), REVERE at 10:30 a.m.

Raised & educated in Revere, he was a 1958 alumnus of Revere High School. He was also an alumnus of M.I.T. He spent a 6 month stint with the U.S. Air Force from January of 1963 to June of 1963, as an Airman 3rd Class during the Viet-Nam Era. A majority of his working career, was with the sale & distribution of High Technology Electrical Motors selling to facilities & institutions. For about eight years, he operated his own company, “C-MOTION” of North Reading until retirement in 2005. For over 47 years, Charles & his family lived in North Reading, where he was most active in youth soccer and coaching in softball & youth soccer. He & his wife of 53 years, Judith A. (Cosco) Spellman returned to Revere, three years ago. Besides his wife, he leaves three (3) children.

He is the devoted father of James C. Spellman & his wife, Heather of Derry, N.H., Craig A. Spellman & his wife, Sinead Healy of Methuen & Lynne M. Spellman & her husband, Paul Rogers of Somerville. He is the cherished Grandfather of Rachel L. Spellman & Jacob S. Spellman both of Derry, NH & Ciara H. & Adam C. Spellman, both of Methuen. He is the brother of the late Andrew Spellman. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Joseph A. Long

Long, who passed on Thursday, December 22nd at the Care One at Lexington, following a lengthy illness. His funeral mass will follow the visitation at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St. Revere at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham.

Mr. Long was born & raised in Revere, and attended school there, graduating from Revere High School in 1949. He joined the U.S. Navy, during the Korean Conflict, in February of 1951 & served until January of 1955. He was a Master Finish Carpenter for the Carpenters’ Union, Local #40, for the majority of his working career, retiring in 1994. He was a devotee of St. Anthony of Padua Community Parish all of his life.

He is the beloved husband of 61 years to Madeline B. (Hurley) Long, a surviving member of the renowned, “Hurley” family of Revere Beach Boulevard. He is the devoted father of Nancie Long-Manning & her husband John J. Manning, Robert J. Long & his wife, Jane & Devorah E. Long-Hodson & her husband, Andrew Hodson. He is the cherished & adored Grandfather “Papa” to Cassandra Long, Victoria E.Simmons & her husband, Michael & John J. Manning, Jr. He is also lovingly survived by his great-grandaughter, Biancca Long & many nieces & nephews. He was also the dear brother of the late Frances A. Shoohigh, Frank Luongo, Angelina Kelley & Phyllis Augello.

Leo F. O’Hara

O’Hara, who passed peacefully & in the presence of his Lord, on Sunday, December 18th at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home in Chelsea, where he had been a resident for the past five years. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, December 23rd at 9:00 a.m. & then followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Michael the Archangel Chapel at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home, 91 Crest Ave., Chelsea at 11:00 a.m.

Born & raised in Revere, he attended Immaculate Conception Grammar and High School and was a 1946 alumnus of the High School. Soon, following graduation, he joined the US Army in October of 1946 and served with the rank of Private 1st Class through February of 1948. He began a career with American Airlines and rose to the rank of Supervisor. He retired from the airlines after forty years of service. Leo lived in Revere until moving to Winthrop in 1978. He was an accomplished musician of the organ and the piano. He played for many years at many of the induction services for the Revere Lodge of Elks, the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Winthrop Lodge of Elks. He played for many events held at these facilities, over the years. He was also a long-time member of the Revere K of C #179., the Revere Lodge of Elks, the Revere Loyal Order of the Moose & the Winthrop Elks Lodge. Leo loved crossword puzzles, football, ballroom dancing and good food. But most of all, he loved deeply and unconditionally his partner, best friend & loving wife, Isabel. His gentle spirit, impish smile and twinkly blue eyes lit up our lives & made our world complete. A special thank you to the staff of 1-West at Chelsea Soldiers’ Home for their wonderful care and attention to Leo these past five years.

He is the cherished step-father to Judith A. “Judy” Nee and her husband,  John”Jack” and Isabel J. Silva, all of Winthrop. He was the adoring “Pup” to John J. “Jackie” Nee, III of South Boston, Thomas J. “Tommy” Nee and Isabelle A. Nee, both of Winthrop. Dear brother of the late, Revere Police Lt. Joseph O’Hara, Edward T., Thomas P. & Revere Patrolman Vincent J. O’Hara. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and
nephews. Interment will be in the Belle Isle Section of Winthrop Cemetery, Winthrop.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.
Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.

On September 30th, 2022, we proudly purchased the Vazza “Beechwood” Funeral Home – DiPietro and Vazza, Inc. A name that has served families for 102 years. We feel blessed that with all of the interest, the Vazza Family chose us to carry on their century old business and family name. We will become Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. We will continue to honor the Vazza name and continue our commitment the same way that we always have. We also look forward to having both Louis Vazza and Jessica Vazza Ferragamo alongside of us, as we come together as one.

Our reputation has always been our biggest asset. For many years people always wanted us to have a larger facility, now our facility is the largest funeral home in the area. We will be making many beautiful upgrades to allow our families to have the most elegant facility to honor their loved one.

Although this announcement is bittersweet, as we say goodbye to our home, we are forever grateful for all of you for placing your constant faith and trust in us to care for your loved one. We will continue to do what we are best known for.
