Terrence L. “Terry” Slattery

His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 11:00 a.m.
Terry was born and raised in Malden, educated there and left over 48 years, when he moved to East Boston. He and his wife, Lillian G. (Martino) Slattery have been Revere residents for over 20 years. For 35 years, he owned and operated Slattery’s Landscaping Services throughout the North Shore. Terry was an avid sport man, especially enjoying and playing golf, throughout the area and in Florida.
He is the beloved and caring husband of 48 years to Lillian G. (Martino) Slattery of Revere and Port St. Lucie, Florida. Devoted father of Mark A. Slattery of Revere and Thomas D. Harmon and his wife Christine of Woburn. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer Melville and her husband Joseph of Quincy and Derek M. Harmon of Woburn. He is the dear brother of John Slattery and his wife Elinor of Malden and the late Frank and Michael Slattery, Noreen Martorana and Mary Lessard. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and faithful family friend, Sheilah Korinow of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Terry was a larger than life personality, leaving many friends, golfing buddies and acquaintances most saddened. Interment will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.

Elizabeth R. “Betty” (McLaughlin) Simone

Born in Winthrop, she was a lifelong resident of Revere and an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1949. For over 55 years, Betty was “the Avon Lady” who had clients, not only in Revere but in many North Shore surrounding communities. Betty treated her work, not only superbly, but maintained a personal connection to her many clients. Those friendships would last throughout the years. She received many awards and citations from The Avon Company, for superior achievement and dedication. Only recently, due to failing health, did she stop working. Her dear late husband, Peter S. Simone, who passed away in August of 2004, was a tremendous help; sorting, packing and delivering the orders, along with maintaining his own full time work. The couple, on a family level, were legendary, for their love of Christmas, especially shopping and decorating. They would begin in January to prepare for next Christmas. As they arrived home with presents, they would wrap the treasures, for their four children, six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives loved visiting their Revere home and often referred to it as “Santa’s Village”.

Aldo S. Tenaglia

Tenaglia, who died serenely in the sanctity of his home and family following a lengthy illness. His funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, May 20th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 10:00 a.m.
Born and raised in the Orsogna Region of Italy, he played professional soccer in Italy. He arrived in this country in 1955, continuing to play soccer with the former Boston Italia League until 1962. In later years, he also coached the game and refereed. Aldo was a custom tailor by profession and was a sought after designer for Brooks Brothers, College Town and several other “Garment Kings” at the time. In those days, manufacturing within the garment industry was most challenging. The working conditions in factories, were all but minimal, no heat in the winter and no air conditioning in the summer. And of course, there was always the race factor, that is, Aldo was an Italian immigrant, often overcoming prejudices and becoming excelled in his work. The work ethic of that era is almost non-existent. Aldo persevered and made a fine life for his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is the beloved husband of 53 years to Maria R. (DiMeo)Tenaglia. Devoted father of Anna M. Tenaglia and her husband Steven St. Arnault of Newbury, Robert Tenaglia and his wife Susan of Lynn and Lisa E. Polidoro and her husband Joseph A. Polidoro Jr. of Revere. Dear brother of Ada E. D’Angelo of Revere and her late husband Philip and Alceo Tenaglia and his wife Ines Penna of Everett. He is also lovingly survived by his cherished grandchildren; Isabella M. St. Arnault, Taylor J. Tenaglia, Joseph A. Polidoro, III , Gabriella M. Polidoro and many caring nieces and nephews. Aldo was a longtime active member of the Sons of Orsogna Lodge of Everett. He and his wife Maria spent many wonderful hours at the lodge with old friends and family. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

Geno was born, raised and educated in Revere, a community he never forgot and was always proud of. He attended Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Immaculate Conception High School, graduating in 1958. He played football at ICC High School and always remembered coach Ron Corbett, who is alive and well. For 8 years, he was with the US Coast Guard Reserve. He was discharged in October of 1966. For over 40 years, he was with Met Life Insurance Co. management, beginning with New England Life.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years R. Beverly (Igoe) McCarthy of Everett. He is the beloved father of Lorraine C. McCaffrey of Everett. Cherished grandfather of Krista R. McCaffrey of South Boston, Tiffany L. McCaffrey of South Boston, & Kenzie R. McCaffrey of Sandwich. Dear brother of Maryanne Doucette and her husband John of East Bridgewater and the late Kathryn McGovern. He is also lovingly survived by his nephew, Robert Phillips, of East Bridgewater.
Geno never left Revere in his heart, although he lived in Everett for 54 years. He was a staunch Boston sports fan, especially the Patriots and the Red Sox. Interment will be private. Born in the Phon, province of Cambodia, she came here to the USA in 1984, a victim of the country’s genocide. Jennifer made her home with her most devoted sister, Deborah K. Biv. They had lived in Revere for about 4 years, until moving to Lynn in 1985. The girls had survived the Cambodian genocide of the late 1970s, suffered untold and horrific experiences and came here, became educated, and were alumnae of the Class of 1990, University of Massachusetts, with a B.A. & Master’s degree in education. Jennifer taught for 24 years, at the Alexander Hamilton School of Brighton, teaching reading, English, French and Cambodian. She was beloved and respected not only by her fellow teachers, but by her many, many students. They had been active members of the First Congregational Church of Revere and were treasured and respected by all members and Pastor Nicholas G. Granitsas. She was also the daughter of the late Leang Hout Biv and Nay Kol, who perished during the genocide. Interment is private.

Mr. Russo was born and raised in East Boston and was a 1951 alumnus of East Boston High School. He served in the Korean Conflict with the US Army. He lived in East Boston until moving to Revere in 1967. Jim owned and operated Russo Brothers Garage and Gas Station on Washington Ave. in Chelsea for over 34 years, retiring in 1995, when the station was sold.
He is the beloved husband of 58 years to Carol A. (Moscone) Russo of Revere. Devoted father of Joan M. Russo, Jean Marino and her husband Ronald, all of Revere, John L. Russo and his wife April of West Peabody and Josephine M. Russo of Revere and the late James H. Russo, III and Janet A. Odoardi. He is the cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Josephine, Andrea, Kristen, Robert, James, Jamie and Joshua. He is also lovingly survived by several great grandchildren. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Her funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, May 12th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
Born and raised in Revere, she was an alumna of Revere High School, Class of 1948. Early in her working career, she worked as a clerk at the Wonderland Dry Cleaners of Revere and later at Chelsea Carpet as an office manager. Anna retired at age 75 from Intercity Homemaker Services of Revere as their secretary and office manager, where she had served for over 15 years. A devout and practicing catholic, she was deeply religious and a lifetime member of the St. Anthony’s Parish community. She was a volunteer at the church and a member of the Anthonian Club & Ladies Solidarity. Although she was diminutive in size, she was a large personality, knowing, helping and loving all that had the pleasure of coming into contact with her. Some of her friendships, arrived from her long walks and exercise routes, she toted daily. “Auntie Anna” was a surrogate mom to all of her nieces and nephews, not ever having any biological children of her own. Her interest and caring was most authentic and included a large extended family. She was also an active member of the Revere Seniors.
She was the devoted daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (DiSisto) Longo. She was the cherished auntie of Josephine Piccardi (with whom she made her home) and her late husband Hugo, Clara A. Lander and her husband Chester, all of Revere, Michael Longo and his wife, Jerri of Everett, Salvatore A. Longo, Jr. and his wife Linda of Somersworth, NH, Angelo A. “Tiny” Luongo and his wife Jean of Norton, Judy Lacey and her husband Lawrence of Ipswich. She was the dear sister of the late Lucy M. Giuliano and her late husband Joseph, Salvatore A. Longo and his late wife Mary, Josephine Zeoli and her late husband Nicholas, Angelo Luongo and his late wife Phyllis and Florence Zeoli and her late husband Alfred. She is also lovingly survived by many grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and nephews and her faithful and constant friend, Joann Giannino and her husband Christy of Revere.

Funeral Services and Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett were held privately for Jill C. Santeusanio, who passed away on Wednesday, May 6th at Beverly Hospital, following a brief illness, before she was taken back to join the “Angelic Choir”.
Born as one of God’s special angels, she lived in Revere before spending many years in the care of the Hogan Regional Center at Hathorne, MA.
She is the cherished daughter of Judy A. (Cribbie) Santeusanio of Revere and the late John N. Santeusanio. She is the beloved sister of John D. Santeusanio and his wife Renee of Revere and Steven J. Santeusanio and his fiancée Tracey Sheehy of Abington. She is also the adored granddaughter of Dexter and Christine (Franco) Cribbie of Point of Pines, Revere and the late Romeo and Louise M. (Marrama) Santeusanio. She is the dear niece to Dr. Richard P. Santeusanio, PhD, Retired Superintendent of Danvers Schools and his wife Joan of Marblehead and Cheryl Covalucci and her husband John of Hubbardstown, MA. She is also lovingly survived by her nephew Joseph J. Santeusanio of Revere and many faithful cousins. Early in her career, she worked at the Grover Manor Hospital in Revere. As the mother of 4 boys, she became a “Supreme Mom”. Rose’s beloved husband, Arthur M. Gordon, passed away on February 1, 2004.

Frances J. (Toomey) Bonner

Born and raised in East Boston, the family moved to Beachmont, Revere. Franny was a 1950 alumna of East Boston High School and went to work for New England Tel. & Tel. She worked there for many years before taking a position with James F. Murphy, Inc. of Cambridge as an office manager. In 1968, she and her family moved to Concord, MA, where she became most active in the Girl Scouts as a Den Mother. She was also a Team Mother and chaperone for the Haydenettes Recreation Center of Lexington synchronized ice skating team, traveling all over the country. In the 60s and 70s, she was a very active member of St. Michael’s Parish of Bedford, MA, where she served on many committees and taught CCD and Sunday School.
She is the devoted wife of 51 years to her childhood sweetheart, James A. “Archie” Bonner of Concord. Loving mother of Kassia W. Reynard of Columbia, MO, Kim A. Bonner of Littleton and Kara J. Dobbins and her husband Kenneth of Stow. Beloved sister of the late Ellen Kanall, Margaret Vieira, Catherine Reynolds, Mary Tierney, Anna M. Pedro, Alice M. Toomey, Agnes F.
